Well, a couple of upsets threw my rankings in disarray. Lets get right to it.

1.) Nick - Took care of business. Now is where he will earn his paycheck. Next two games are against Colin and Raf. A win this week against Colin, he probably clinches a semi-final spot. A loss could force a must win against Raf.

2.) Raf - Squeaked by Colin. Will have to play better if he hopes to repeat, but for now, he is here.

3.) Ryan - The Clarkin show took advantage of a very undermanned Spack. But the Eagles were missing their QB and arguably the best player in the league, so they deserve to be here.

4.) Buzz - I think this is Buzz's team now, and he finally decided to use his weapons when it mattered most. I matchup against Spack this week could likely earn them a spot in the semis. Can they pull off another upset?

5.) Colin - Tough loss. Missing DaSilva hurts. They need to win out, and maybe worry about the differential, so expect a big game from them against Nick.

6. and 7.) Both called out on the board for losing a game. At least one of them won't move on, if not both. Both have been in my top 4 rankings all season, so i don't expect them to lie down.

8.) TO - Being in a pool with Nick, Colin, Raf is not easy. I don't think they win again this season.

Great game last week pro bowl grey.
I know people are asking, "can they do it again?". Ofcourse we can, this week as a matter of fact. But then people say, "but matt, you are playing spack's team an they are really good.". Ofcourse they are, but they won't be good enough this week. And then the skeptics say, "I don't know, the colts got beat pretty bad by the eagles last week, won't they be playing harder this week to show the league they have the biggest cojones.". Well I can't comment on the cojones situation, but I do know it's scientifically proven that if a team has at least 3 Clarkins on the field at any given time they are guaranteed to win. So the colts couldn't win and the loss is no reflection of the calibre of this team. THEN I get asked, "so tell me mr super smart Snyder, why do you think PBG wins this week, you have no clarkins, colts are out for vengeance, etc, etc.?". All I can say is that earlier today I notarized a document, signed by buzz, that in exchange for a win this week against the colts he will have a statue of Miller made, which he will place on his front lawn surrounded by floodlights so the whole neighborhood can bask in it's glory. So we can't lose, the motivation is just too good. Like pat Bowen said, this ones for John!

2-2 last week. The playoffs brought with them a couple of surprises. The Colts had some issues with attendance, but I still don’t think anyone would’ve thought the Eagles (minus Ryan and Dave Z) would upset them. The win by PB Grey is a little less of a surprise. Seems like that last week loss to the Vikings did reveal something about the Falcons. (more than was thought anyway…)

Let’s see if we can do a little better this week. Everybody is still in it folks. One loss will not eliminate you from the final four, but 2 probably will…

North 9:00 – 2nd place (Falcons-Noah) vs 6th place (Eagles-Ryan)

Who throws for the Eagles? Glenn did an excellent job last week in handling the Colts. This Eagles team is better than they showed in the season. Which Falcons team shows? The early-season one that was dominant or the one from the last two weeks, who struggled immensely against the bottom 2? I have learned over the years in the WMFL not to overlook the importance of momentum.

Take Ryan’s team

South 9:00 – 1st place (PB White-Nick) vs 5th place (Bears-Colin)

Tough loss for Colin last week, especially now that they have to play the team that is arguably playing the best in the league right now. Nick has things a-rolling, utilizing all of his weapons and the team is playing solid D too. It was a win over the Vikings last week, but they are on a roll. If Colin gets everyone out he might be able to keep it close, but I can’t see them pulling off the upset.

-- Take Nick’s team

North 10:45 – 3rd place (Colts-Dave) vs 7th place (PB Grey-Buzz)

Late game so no excuses for the Colts not being there or being at least on-time. Dave is the king of bouncing back with a big game after a loss, so I would expect the Colts to be a-flying this week. Buzz had the Grey squad running like a well-oiled machine last week. I think they will be able to score to keep up with the Colts, but can they do enough on D to slow Dave down. It will be close, but I think the Colts keep the top-4 dream alive.

-- Take Dave’s team

South 10:45 – 4th place (Browns-Mike) vs 8th place (Vikings-Chris)

Mike and the Browns beat a tough Bears team last week. The Vikings had their chances against Nick, but just couldn’t get the ball into the end zone. I think they will be able to move the ball again this week and should put up more than 6, but I am not sure they will be able to slow the Browns down enough.

-- Take Mike’s team

As a public service, I will keep the message up again. YOU NEED TO HAVE REFS THERE AT 9AM!!!

To help others, YOU SHOULD CHECK IF YOU PLAY AT 9 TOO. The schedule is not listed by team number anymore, but by where you placed during the regular season.

Playoffs baby!! Have fun everyone, and remember to leave it all out on the field.

Who were the final 2 teams in the last ten years? I know it was Raf (Champ) vs Spack last year.

Does the league keep track of that history? I think that would be good to add to a page on the site, the complete championship history of the WMFL, if it is available.

Spack - 3
Raf,Noah,Colin - 2
Miller - 1

All are still alive this year. Or will it be a new QB?

Posted By Posted By: Summary
Posted On Posted On: Nov 3rd, 2014
Views Views: 3442
In the past 10 years:

Noah has 2 appearances with 2 wins: 100% win rate
Colin has 2 appearances with 2 wins: 100% win rate
Miller has 1 appearances with 1 wins: 100% win rate
Spack has 5 appearances with 3 wins: 60% win rate
Raf has 2 appearances with 6 wins: 33% win rate
TJ/TO has 1 appearance with 0 wins: 0% win rate
Nick has 1 appearance with 0 wins: 0% win rate
Tim has 1 appearance with 0 wins: 0% win rate
Tony has 1 appearance with 0 wins: 0% win rate

So the moral of the story is to avoid Noah, Colin & Miller in the finals and try to play Nick, TJ/TO, Tim and/or Tony. And Raf is the most likely to make the championship game, but 2 out of 3 times he is likely to lose especially if he's playing Spack.

Well, final week of round robin play and I think mathematically every team is still in the conversation. Most are in a win and in situation..

1.) Rafuse - Only undefeated team in pool play, although looked a bit clunky in both wins. Believe it or not, a loss to Nick, and has a big chance to be eliminated.

2.) Colin - Gave Nick their first loss since week 1, albeit without their QB. A win against TO, and a little bit of help, will send Colin into the semis.

3.) Spack - The rumours of his demise have been exaggerated. No small task in beating Noah this weekend, but a win send him through.

4.) Nick - Lost, but was in it. A win against Raf probably sends him through as long as Colin takes care of TO first.

5.) Noah - Almost got Clarkined. Needed a two point conversion stop after a kickoff return, but they got it, and if they beat Spack like they did during the season, they are through.

6.) Ryan - Clarkins gone wild! You turn your back on them for one second, and they are sprinting down the sideline. If Dave shows up this weekend, I like their chances against

7.) Buzz - Solid squad, but I don't think they have the team to win two games in the playoffs when they need to.

8.) TO - Stuck with Raf for a half and a bit, and were leading for a bit. Wheels came off, as it came off their season. They need a major miracle where they win, and Raf wins, and there are some unlikely blowouts.

I guess he has nothing to say this week Maybe he's thinking how he will win the toilet bowl in 2 week's. TJ quiet too?
I guess DMAC was the best at Trash Talk.Ever since he has been gone the board is really quiet. What about Tank he always had something to say. Tank? Drew? Nick? Kings? Raf? Clarkins? Noah? TJ? TO? Dave? No one has nothing to say in theses play offs???

Great Game Eagles ! ,I'm pretty sure there is only 3 Clarkins on the roster . could have sworn sometimes there was double that well at least 2 more ( sorry Glen), Ryan threw a great game and then there was Dave Z being Dave Z. Good luck to the top four moving forward.

Missed last week gang, sorry about that. Saw the games though, and it was an exciting end to the round-robin playoffs. So many teams still in the running going into the week led to some fantastic efforts on all sides!

Semi-final weekend already? Wow how time flies. Looking forward to some more great games this week.

North 9:00 – 4th B (Falcons-Noah) vs 3rd A (PB White-Nick)

Has to be a little disappointing for these two teams to find themselves one loss away from the Toilet-Bowl game. They were 1-2 after the regular season, but just couldn’t seal the deal in the playoffs. Looking at the match-ups and the way both teams have been playing the last few weeks, I don’t think Noah is going to be able to score enough on this D to pull it out.

Take Nick’s team

South 9:00 – 3rd B (PB Grey-Buzz) vs 4th A (Vikings-Chris)

Grey had a shot last week to make the top-4, but fell just short. (must be a Clarkin joke in here somewhere…) The Vikings have kept the playoff games close for awhile, but they seem to fall apart in the second half. This has to potential to be a really good game if everyone shows up, but could also get ugly really quick if the Vikings revert back to their regular season style… Either way I can’t pick them to win…

-- Take Buzz’s team

North 10:45 – 1st A (Browns - Mike) vs 2nd B (Colts - Dave)

This should be a fantastic game. Both teams are playing well now. The Colts bounced back from the 1st playoff week loss to handle both Grey and the Falcons to make it through to the semi’s. Now they face an undefeated (in the playoffs) Browns team that has won three tough games in the playoffs. A lineup review shows that both teams have some real-solid top-level talent (Matt R, Beaver, Scanga and Charles H vs Ben, Desmond, Wilson and Fab). They both have some very solid 2nd level guys too (Kevin H, Dan, Rodney, Steve, G$ vs Brad S, DeSouza, Best, McCaskie, Warbird) In the end the game will go back and forth and one defensive stop may win it. The Colts won the regular season matchup, I will go with the Browns getting revenge.

-- Take Mike’s team

South 10:45 – 2nd A (Bears - Colin) vs 1st B (Eagles-Ryan)

Not sure that anyone thought these two would be meeting in a semi-final when the regular season ended. That’s what a little momentum will do for you. With a bit of luck the Eagles would’ve gone undefeated in the playoffs and have looked the part of a Championship contender. The Bears have played some really solid D and bounced back from the first playoff week loss with low-scoring wins over the Vikings and PB-White team. A review of these lineups shows that the Eagles are getting great play from their top-7 players, while the Bears are very reliant on just 3 or 4 guys. I think the Eagles depth and momentum will carry them through to a Championship berth.

-- Take Ryan’s team

Only 2 weeks left in the WMFL year folks. Enjoy them!!

Have fun everyone, and remember to leave it all out on the field.

All good in the Eagles and the Bears , minor misunderstanding , good game had by all , 1 score difference. On a side note I had left my CIS Football as well as misplacing a Falcon's touque the Saturday before, Hoping somebody picked these items up . An age thing what can I say , I know I'm opening this up for Snyder and Carter , But I gotta ask. Actually Matty if you want to see any passes this Saturday best not to say anything , just saying
Goodluck to the Bears and Colts.

You can rest easy this week. I have spoken to Miller's wife, and she will be sewing string onto all of his possessions so he won't lose them.
Great season, thanks to all the execs for their work in making the league fun for all of us, and to steve-o for the BBQ.
