If I'm on light grey and I want any chance to win at all, Luc needs to stay on the field for every play. Both sides of the field.

You get that from looking at his stats? Luc is a very good player but he was taken before clarkins, frank, TJ.. That is a bad draft.

Where Luc was drafted is completely redundant to that fact that he is Grey's MVP and needs to be on the field for them to be at all competitive.

Redundant? Not sure that’s the word you were searching for there. But it might be as I’m not quite sure what you are trying to say.

Redundant: able to be omitted without loss of meaning or function.

So I'll repeat myself, where he was drafted has nothing to do with the fact that he is their best player and needs to be on the field.

This has nothing to do with where the Clarkins or Frank was drafted.

Just wanted to say congrats to Green on the win and class act by allowing Joe and Frank to play for us.

Frank/Joe,
Thanks for jumping in and helping us out. We really appreciate it. Although, a few Joe one-handed grabs and a couple Frank pick-6's would have come in handy.

Team White,
we accomplished our goal of not letting anyone see our full potential by only playing a handful of us every week and sitting the rest. The strategy will payoff when ALL of us show up this week.

Thanks again and good luck to everyone.

The exec did a great job on the round robin schedule. Each division has an early day, a late day and a day that's split. No one time slot is better than the other. If you don't like your spot it's tough luck. Can't please everyone.

Typical quiet board going into playoffs. Nobody wants to give bulletin board material to other team.

Teams that can surprise: Red and Black

Teams that can disappoint: Green and Orange

Red don't give a what about bulleting board material. Jelani is trash, Dave Z is overrated. Some people are going to think that Red pulled off an astounding upset, but in reality, we're just going to win because we're a better team. I say that Jelani throws 4 interceptions, and we score damn near every drive. I'd say every drive if the Warbird was throwing again (he was on fire against Orange), but Chambers will shake off a bit of rust from the week off, plus he's such a nice guy he feels bad for trash teams. Red is going to double up Green on the scoreboards ... book it.

Well the regular season is done. Everyone successfully made the playoffs. Now the real season begins. Only one wrong last week, Carbon took down Royal. 21 games correctly picked out of 28 on the season. 75 percent, not bad at all, in Vegas that would earn me a pretty penny. It is a new season for picking playoff games, 0 for 0 now.

What did we learn this week?

Black is capable of winning a football game. Dyl the thrill put up points and Fab actually showed up.

The Warbird can put up some serious offense vs a stronger Orange team, nearly pulling off the upset.

Carbons defense is vulnerable to strong teams, two weeks in a row giving up big points.

Green’s defense continues to be atrocious, giving up 24 vs a short manned White team that needed to pick up a useless player like Frank

There seems to be arguments about Luc’s value. He is valuable and a great player on offense and defense. Perhaps just a questionable draft when taking into consideration who was still on the board (The Great Synder of course), nothing he can do about it.

Regular season MVP goes too….??? An undefeated Carbon player. Noah Carbon would not be top dogs without. However, if it was Most outstanding player MOP, it would be Frank easy.

Hopefully stats are overwith and Nick Clarkin can focus on wins rather than points. Exec, any answers?
We have also learned that some people don’t like waking up early.

This week’s picks

Orange vs White Game of the week.

Evenly matched teams here. Assuming attendance is a none issue. 2 years ago this would be a blow out with Colin, Mike, Tim, and Ben as top dogs in the league. This year father time has reared his ugly face as these guys are hit and miss week to week. The biebs will cause all sorts of miss matches as Orange does not have speed to keep up. Neeraj can win any jump ball, and Nick throws a lot of jump balls. White will be fine on offense, Orange hasn’t shown an ability to stop anyone, and looked rusty vs Red last week. Jay, Tim and Rodney will have a difficult time designing a defense to stop these recievers on team white. With the focus on those two it will leave Jules, and Brooksesese open. Joe James has played with Nick before and can perhaps give Orange an insight on what to expect. This game is important for both, as a loss could drop them out of a chance for the title. Orange has the championship pedigree of the past and I feel as though they get it done when it matters. Stars of the game: Jomo and Rich Hadden.
Orange wins 38-34.

Carbon vs Grey

Carbon looks unstoppable thus far. Grey was riding high after Luc’s heroics but came crashing back down to earth last week. Luc can cover Frank or TO, but not both. Noah will find the holes in grey’s defense, much like the holes in Frank’s socks. Josh, Nigel, and Higney will be used vital to stopping Grey’s deep passing attack. Dustin, Mark, Alex, Pete are sure handed in the intermediate passing game but do not have the speed to get behind Carbon’s D. Wade and Aaron match up well with Kyle and Noah. This game has the makings of a blow out. One would think Grey’s receivers would get better at catching the deep ball by now, but they have yet to prove that they can track King’s balls. Only Frank can track balls (see what I did there?). Look out for Jeff Clarkin and Peter Kalo!
Carbon takes this one in a landslide. 44-16

Blue vs Black.

Black showed life last week and looked good with better attendance. Blue was the opposite, no attendance and did not look great with only 6 players though. This will not be a blowout as one might expect. Dylan will be able to score here as Muragtrd and Fab will cause some miss matches and find holes in Spacks zone. If they switch to man, the focus on those two will leave JJ, Aaron hockey boy and jake open. Can Dylan shake off the defeat in last years finals and step up to lead his team? Yes on offense. No on defense. Blue will torch Black when they are on offense. The Clarkins are uncoverable in man to man, even with Fab on one of them. If you go to zone, spack will pick it aprart with Brandy and Duffy and cain. The unfortunate loss of Staff hurts spack but they will score regardless. Watch out for Sajeev and Dan on team Black, and Glenn and stevins on team blue!
Blue wins a high scoring affair. 48-32

Green vs red. The chirstmas game

Well TJ has begun the trash talk early. He was disappointed I didn’t mention him in my MVP race, however, earlier in the season I gave him credit as being great, and he gave me flak when he said he isn’t, what do you want!? Common man!!!! TJ and Z will be fun to watch when they are on offense, too bad neither of them can cover the other one. Red has the worst statistical defense this year and will give up a bundle to green who can score at will vs anyone with stellar contributions from Russ, Mario, Kitch and Taylor if healthy. Red should be better on defense with the speed of Will and Adrian and the master play of Syder and Clausen and Jason. TJ needs to get these defenders in order. Offensively red will score a bundle. TJ is uncoverable and catches any jump ball if he isn’t too flashy with 1 hand now that we are out of the all important regular season. Miggy and warbird (unless he is throw) will find holes in Greens permeable defense. Red needs this game for any hope at moving on as they do not match up well with Blue. Both teams will score, both teams have awful defenses, but will Red QB play may hinder them as it is up in the air. Greens stars: G money and Rodney. Red’s stars: Rod and Rob
Green wins 36-30

Picks to make the semi finals and move to the true playoffs after this round robin regular season number 2.

Carbon, Blue, Green, Orange.
Carbon 1 vs Green 2
Blue 1 vs Orange2
Black really gets an unfortunate draw being in with 3 stellar teams. Team Red and white could create some upsets and end title hopes early. Grey, sorry…

Power Rankings

Orange

Grey

I will admit, I am Mel Kiper, sorry for doubling up last week with QB comparisons. I figured you did not want to hear from me twice.

This weeks comparisons are first rounders:

Mike Hadden-Dez Bryant, once unstoppable force now showing some wear and tear, still a force to be reckoned with but creating separation is an issue, still excellent hands

TJ- OBJ, duh. Outstanding hands and moves in the open field. Arrogance? Nah, just flashy. TJ has a few years on OBJ though.

Fab- Jordy Nelson, excellent receiver when is shows up. Not always there, Jordy is hurt, Fab is…..???? Excellent route runner and hands.

Dave Z- AJ green. Often has the attention of the defense. Can still make plays. Often sure handed as they come. Used to have break away speed, now struggles to make people miss.

Luc- Deandre Hopkins. A top receiver but hidden in an awful offense. (However this year houstons offense is ideal with Deshaun). Young receiver, speed and hands, not yet one to be feared as he is underrated.

Giogrio- T.Y Hiltion- Blazing speed, decent hands, can score from anywhere on the field. Great hands. Would be featured more in primetime with a QB, need Andrew luck back, it would be interesting to see Girogio with a stronger arm behind center.

Frank- Julio jones. Arguably the best receiver in the league. Jump balls feel comfortable Frank will get it. Route runner, physical, excellent hands. Faster than one might think. However, Julio is a class act, Frank is a flashy entertainer.

Nick- Antonio Brown. Arguably the best in the league. Can do it all. Hands, speed, puts up significant fantasy points each year. Playing with a proven QB. Will be one of the best for years to come.

@collinsworth

Thanks for the MOP nomination. I do feel as though there was good competition with Nick Clarkin as well.

Secondly, there is no chance Luc can cover me and that will be seen this weekend as I am ready to absolutely torch that defense. Carbons offense is on a roll and drawing double coverage will lead to the rest of the team being wide open even if I am not.

Finally, I would like to make note of your WR comparisons. I feel like Dave Z is more like Julio than I. He is able to make catches that most receivers can only dream of making while still being able to turn short slant routes into points as he did vs us.

Carbon is ready for another big game this weekend and a win is the only acceptable outcome this week.

@tj and synder. Perhaps you were unaware how great green looked last week. We played a virtual all star team with joe james a second rounder, Frank, and neeraj. We rolled. I may be overrated yes, but team green is underrated and our meeting will be much like the first. All green all day. Tj perhaps you will Grace us on the field with your recieving abilities. Not your qb skills, or lack there of, spirit of the league and all...

@quietmessagdboardintotheplayoffs
Green will not disappoint. The playoffs is our time. The field is our home. Hence green and grass. ;)

Luc is plenty capable of doing damage against Frank on defense. I think he should just play press man against him and have the team play zone around that. Noah will still find ways to get his playmakers involved, but Luc is a damn good man defender. I might have to watch some of that game, as a warmup to destroying Dave Z and Jelani.

Tonight on The Bachelor, with all the continuous comments about frank week after week it looks like this season bachelor Frank the tank has a large abundence of (wo)men to chose from. Heat has been rising between Franklin and David Z. Will this Bromance blossom into a healthy marriage or will Frank and Luc's 2nd date tomorrow go so well that it interfers with David's plans to be the man of Franks dreams?

I am a huge bachelor fan so i value your input. However, i am a bigger Seinfeld fan. Hearing that Frank believes ross from friends could beat up jerry is insane. Unless of course ross fights dirty like georgoe (pull hair, groin stuff, whatever he has to do) jerry would win, he can run really really fast to. That being said, Frank's disregard of jerry's greatness is unforgivable. Team green and myself will proceed to crush frank in the semi finals. Yes semi finals because we will finish first. Carbon will finish second to orange in their division.
Bromance over. Its playoff time
