Let the talk about how Black beat Royal begin...

It’s got to be one of the biggest upsets in league history. 7 seed beating a 2 seed, and a defending champ. Rookie qb.

Anyone might have the excuse that injuries caused a loss or number of players... but the factor the matter is that there was an upset and Royal is on the ropes. Green is playing on all cylinders and is looking like they can take out Royal as well. This could spell trouble for big blue.

spack is a first ballot hall of famer. love him or hate him, he has made this league great again. whether he is viewed as a villain or a hero, he pushes everyone to be better. QBs like Noah and Colin who have rose to Spackian levels in the past decade, can probably thank Dave for pushing them. similar for receivers who have learned route running being on dave's team.

end of the day, hes made the league better, pushed his competition, and gave us all something to talk about.

i dont think hes at all washed up, i think the rest of the league has caught up, and thats a good thing.

Noah and Colin have been there for years. Jelani has shown he is there and now maybe Dylan can be there too.

Just an observation but only one week of playoffs is done.

2 weeks left, still a few twists and turns to go... Everyone still alive!

i think everyone knows exactly where this is going..

black aint going to catch lightning twice and beat green this week. spack knows he has to win the next two and win convincingly. jelani knows he has the ability to take spack out. I see a 3 way tie at 2-1 at the end, where Jelani and Spack get in.

on the other side i think it will be up to carbon/orange just for placement. carbon beat them during the season by a lot but not sure of attendance. still see carbon winning this one.

semis
spack vs noah
jelani vs colin

noah vs jelani final would be great

Don't sleep on Orange. They probably have one of the best rosters of all the teams. Tough to cover on offense and very good defensively. Colin also knows how to win in the playoffs.

What do we have to do to get respect from the league.

Yes, Spack is a great QB and it was very unfortunate that Nick got hurt but we were in that game the whole time.

Just remember Fab, our number one was missing 75% of the season and now that he is showing up we are turning things around and winning(when it matters). Trust me our 1 and 6 record is not a reflection of our teams capability.

Good luck everyone!!!

At least Light Grey scored this weekend. The way red played, I'm not sure they could beat Light Grey?

Holy Moly!!! The all-important regular season is done, and the teams start to play now!! I picked 3 of 4 correctly, People gave me flak on picking orange over white, Trust Mr. Collinsworth please. No one saw the Black vs Blue outlook.

Now, what you have all been waiting for...

What did we learn this week?

Regular season means nothing! Disregard my previous posts about the all important regular season, that was sarcasm for all you humour junkies out there

Team Black can play ball! Dyl and run an offense and the team can play D

Spack is beatable once again, albiet without their star in the second half and missing staff and cain.

Frank won the battle vs Luc, Carbon continues to roll.

Orange reigns supreme as Hair Boy Girogio contines to put school first and attend midterms, common man!!

Green is able to play defense finally?? Or is red just weak?

We have also learned, one game causes overreactions! Black is not the best all of the sudden and spack is not washed up. Watch the game and you see spack making incredible throws time in and time out.

This weeks picks:

Green vs Black (Game of the week??)

Was Black lightening in a bottle or are they for real? Two game winstreak dating back to the regular season. Can Green play defense now? We know they can score. Winner of this game is looking mighty strong to move into the semifinals baring something unforeseen. Word on the street is Mario will be absent. Both QBs are mobile and can play D. Dylan has the arm strength, Jelani the touch. Slight edge to Jelani for having experience calling plays in the playoffs. Fab is outstanding on defense, however he will need assistance shutting down Z. Z showed some life last game on D, however he will not be covering Fab 1 on 1. These two cancel eachother out. Muragtroyd is proving to be a top dog, and near impossible to cover. Jake and Aaron and JJ are excellent outlets for Dyl if the top dogs are covered. Sajeev and Drew will have their hands full with Greens potent offense. Kitch, Taylor, and Russ are play phemeonenmally. Russ perhaps most underrated player. The big question is if Green can play D again. I say this is a close game, Green will score a bundle, Jelani will find ways to spread the ball. Black will score some magical plays on offense but not enough. Look out for Daas Nathan and Jay Palmer.
Green wins 34-28

Blue vs Red

Both teams coming off of a loss. Red’s loss was ugly. Blue will be coming for revenge with all of the message board chatter as they look to solidify themselves as a top team. This game could get ugly, if Nick is healthy. Red has the guns to score with the speed of Adrian and Will, all the focus on TJ, and sure handed Miggy and Warbird. However, they have struggled to score all year. This matchup could be interesting with blue showing some holes on defense with a banged up lineup. Red should get on the board here. Blue is going to come out firing on offense. Expect Kyle and Brant to have big days. Snyder and Classuen will have their hands full. Duffy is sneaky good this year, Spack elevates all. The pressure of a must win for Blue will not get to this team, they are proven in the playoffs dating back to last year. No more shocks here. Blue scores a boat load. Gets just enough stops to stop red. Only 1 specaturlar catch for TJ. Look out for Rod Benson and Bryan Clarkin!
Blue 48-22

Orange v grey

Orange is clicking when it matters most. This all star team circa 2002 is looking fresh and rejunivatned after taking most of the regular season off for various maintenance days. Grey is looking, well, like grey. Certainly without colour, very grey team, plain perhaps one might add. The exciting long ball is proving to be ineffective. Luc makes a nice play here and there, with added efforts by Mark and Alex. Sure handed Hazzlets and mouthy Potter should propel this team on sheer emotion and drive to win. I am not sure they have the drive, have they accepted their fate to come out here for the exercise and comradery? Or can they pull together for a win? It will be a tough task vs Tim, Ben, Joe, Limping Hadden Jr firing on all cylinders on offense, not to mention a championship caliber qb and slimmed down Colin. Jay, Tim, Rodney and Jules are contributing to orange now. Orange is a force, who can challenge Carbon. Grey is destined for toilet bowl dysntaty. Prove me wrong. Use this as motivation. Orange scores just enough, Grey scores 1 or 2 scores as usual. This game belongs to Doug Mckoen and Michael Machado (Not to be confused with the lovable Manny Machado)
Orange wins 36-12

Carbon vs white

Important game for White if they want to stay alive! Ahhhh the rematch of the Frank departure Bowl. Frank left Nick and Hair boy and proceeded to crush them. Frank joined team white in a reunion of sorts during the last week of the regular season. Will this matchup prove different? Neeraj is back and looking excellent with new surgically implanted Heart Valves. It will be entertaining to see Frank and Neeraj go for a 50 50 ball. Giogio and Frank covering eachother one on one would be interesting and leaving TO and Neeraj. However these two teams are smart enough not to play that way (even though its what the fans pay to see). Jomo and Brooks should design some interesting deffences to stop the rolling tide of Carbon with Nigel Josh and Higny. Oh yea, Noah is playing okay too…. Carbon’s defence has been stellar this year, however they have been aided with long drives on offense and good field postion. This game, as most games, comes down to QB play. Noah is rolling. I would love to pick the upset as White will be playing desperate and Carbon seems focused on the semi finals prematurely. However, I am no fool, Carbon rolls on offense, they will only be stopped on offense once. White struggles to score as they avoid throwing around Carbons Epic duo of Wade Gullekson and Colin Goodal! White will counter with their own triad of TJ Kuben (INSPIRED BY TOBJ on team red), Kumaran Sivakumaran, and the best trash talker, sweet walker, stylin, profiling, BILLY! Billy vs frank, Billy shows he is the true MOP of this league, not his breather Frank.

Carbon still rolls. 44-20

Updated power rankings. The true rankings, not some imposter posting earlier, although I do enjoy reading other pundits so please continue to post! :)

Carbon (Undisputed)
Blue (Yes blue is still ahead of green, one bad week does not cause for over reaction, they still crushed green)
Green
Orange
White
Black (Still need to show me more to crack the top 4)
Red (Again, one bad week doesn’t vault them to the bottom)
Grey

Second rounder comparisons to NFL players

Team Red Will J- Desean Jackson. Blazing speed. Firey personality. Aging but not missing a step

Orange- Joe James- Kelvin Benjermin. Not blazing speed. Great route running. Big, sure handed, Tough, Jump ball in his favour

Black Andrew Muragtoryd- Alshon Jeffery- Makes incredible plays. Working with a younger strong arm QB, Wentz/Dyl. Sure handed. Can take over top receiver duties if needed

Green-Mario- Luigi (kidding) Jarvis Landry. Sure handed as they come. Not blazing speed but tough as nails. Team player. Will battle for every football. Outstanding route runner and football mind.

Grey- Dustin- Rischard Mathews (Titans)- Potential is there. Just not enough on tape to distinguish the value here. Need another year, or a big game. His team isn’t on prime time TV enough to tell yet. Someone else can vouch here? Perhaps a hint at my identity, I am not on team grey.

White- Neeraj- Demaryius Thomas- Excellent receiver capable of making plays down the field or in the intermediate throws. Proving once again to be a steady top receiver worthy of a 2nd round pick as he carrys the load for white, even after bicep reduction surgery, with Hair boy's spotty attendance.

Carbon- TO- Larry Fitzgerald. Aging but not showing it one bit. Still outstanding hands and play making ability. Team player through and through. Tall jump ball guy (a theme with second rounders?) A sure fire hall of famer who has been around forever and still looks 25.

Goodluck in playoff week 2!
Keep the smack talk coming! Just because I am a genious and always right, doesn't mean you cant disagree with me and pay devils advocate. The message board tends to go quiet after my post. I intend to stir the pot! Just like the pot a young hobbit likes to smoke before games.... see what I did there??

Kyle- Bradin Cooks. Unbelievable speed and route running ability. Sure handed as they come. Ridiculous moves in the open field. An excellent QB throwing to him. Will be a top dog for years to come. Easily a first round talent

For the record, I 100% believe that Cosmo Kramer is the epitome of godly men. Who wins in a fight between Ross and Jerry is meaningless in any scenario. (Although it's still Seinfeld)

@Frank
Kramer is a character. George is relatable. Ski lift ticket on his jacket from years ago to pick up chicks? John voights car! Yeah i am sure jon forgor to spell his own name.
George costanza aka art vandelay. Lord of the idiots. Marine biologist. Architect. Coined the phrase its not you its me. Also thought of the best line ever, jerk store. Wouldnt mind if you got a regular salad but you sure as hell better give him credit for a big salad. Is very aware of the effect of being in the pool. Also, so cheap that his bulimic gf was throwinf up, he was not worried about her health, rather he was upset because he waa paying for those meals! His stomach doesnt know that kramers wanted!! Unemployed and lived with his parents. Its moops nore moores. Will push anyone down in case of fire. And its bozo the clown, not eric!!the summer of George is upon us.
Kramer being godly is perhaps correct. But costanza is like the human fund, money for people!!

I like it, I consider it passionate play but I'll take it. If i'm dropping passes the least I can do is try and bring some energy to the field.

Looking forward to matching up with Orange again. It was a chess match up until the end with Luc's special team performance. This time, playoff record's are on the line...this will be a sneakily exciting match up I think.

Carbon 1:1
Green 1.5:1
Orange 2:1
Black 20:1
Blue 30:1
White 50:1
Grey 200:1
Red 500:1

Black put a twist in things with last week's upset of Blue. Blue needs to win out and needs some help to even make the semi-finals now. 2-1 might not be good enough. If they somehow make it through though, and their horses are healthy, they become a tough team again.

If Carbon and Orange take care of business this weekend, then they both will move on, and will meet in the third week just to figure out seeding. If White comes up with an upset or Potter's chess match with Orange goes his way, then things get very interesting. Both are longshots, but so was Black over Blue.

Missed last weeks game against Noah and have been pretty silent on the boards this year, but I had to respond to Mr. Collinsworth's post above. And I quote...

'Grey is looking, well, like grey. Or can they pull together for a win?'

Are we really that plain?? I would say not. Luc talks a good game and backs it up with lots of exciting plays, Adam is hardly a 'grey' QB, Potter is never silent, and we have Santa Claus on our team. Not so plain in my mind!

Will Orange be a tough task??
Of course. We beat them once, but they were missing their #1. Any team with Mike, Tim, Ben and Colin throwing will always be a hard one to beat, let alone adding Joe, Junius, Rich, and others.

Are we going to lay down and let them walk over us??
NOT A FREAKING CHANCE!! I can guarantee you that we have accepted no fate. We will bring our best game every week no matter what.

And BTW, it's HAZLETT!! Get me the ball Adam! Fired up and ready to go!! Better keep an eye on the middle Orange defenders...

See you on the field this Saturday. (and of course, on the hill afterwards. I will have the beer!!)

Team black spent Friday night serving the football gods. I hear there were hand-fed grapes, ostrich feather fans, and maybe even a trick or two. All while the gods binge-watched episodes of Friends and Seinfeld. In the end, they couldn't care less about Kramer, Costanza, Ross, or anyone else. But they did like that Rachel character. And when the sun rose, the gods doubled down on black. Nothing left for red.

Does Black have another upset in them? Or are they a one week wonder?

Light Grey has one win this season, and its the team they play Saturday. Can they do it again?

The cousin matchup II went Frank's way. Does White have enough to slow down Carbon?

An injured, motivated Blue takes on Red. Any chance Red wins this?

Frank wouldn't dare playing man on man D because he knows hes not faster then me. If he was a real man he would put his fastest man title on the line this week after the game.

Regarding Franks play: This has been his best year to date as he finally needs to start playing football because he doesn't have me to carry him around everywhere I go. His drive this year to improve his play and learn to shut up has shown that he is an adaptive skilled player and in my own opinion deserving of the leagues MVP.

In other news school has been my hardest competitor this year.

Assume only Colin and Noah from that pool. Winner of their game gets the 1 seed.

And two of Jelani, Spack, and Dylan? Jelani is in, although not mathematically. If Spack and Dylan both win, it would goto points against and jelani is safe.

If Dylan wins and spack loses, Dylan gets the 2 seed. If Spack wins and Dylan wins it will end up points against where Spack currently has 20 less. Dylan needs to prevent chambers from scoring and hope even if jelani loses, he gets some points.

Jelani has the ability to knock out Spack.
