Moving on the White |
Posted By: Playoffs Posted On: Oct 30th, 2017 Views: 2824 | Does anyone have a breakdown of the possible playoff scenarios heading into the final week? |
Posted By: Cris Collinsworth Posted On: Oct 30th, 2017 Views: 2821 | Well that was a “boring” week. All games ended with more than a 2 score difference. A perfect 4 for 4 this week, the better teams won, not giving myself any credit for picking favorites. 7 for 8 in the playoffs now. Almost correctly picked the scores in the games last week too.
What did we learn this week? Team black came back to earth against Green. They kept it close in the first half Blue got back on track against Red Red has perhaps forgotten playoff time is where you step up your game and not diminish it. Grey can score some points! 22 points is a season best!! Congrats guys Carbon looks like a well-oiled machine and poised for a trip to the finals. Green’s defense has stepped up after looking lack luster to finish the regular season. Fab and TJ are taking a page out of Giorgio’s book and were noticeably absent, common man! Your team needed you. Mario, I see you too, however Green won still. Playoff picture (Confusing in one division, easy in the other) Carbon and Orange will be advancing in their division, just a matter of seeding now with Saturday’s game. The other divison is where it gets interesting. Black, Blue and Green are all alive. Scenarios: Green is in the driver seat with 2 wins and holds their own destiny in their hands with a win over blue. Green beating Blue and Black beating red will eliminate Blue. If Blue wins, and Black wins, all 3 teams will be tied and it will come down to points against, where Green looks to be a favorite to still advance unless Blue blows out Green by 35 points. Then it would come down to points against with black and blue, where Blue holds a 20 point advantage in points against. However, if red beats Black, and Blue wins, then Blue and Green advance. If Red beats Black, Black can still advance if Blue allows 20 more points than Black allows. Alright, here are this weeks picks: evenly matched games this week and 2 power house games. Carbon vs Orange (Battle for 1st seed) Both excellent quarterbacks, with championship caliber arms. Noah has been outstanding all season, Colin is turning it on come playoff time. No advantage here. Top dogs for Carbon, Frank and TO, will outplay the top 3 for orange, Mike, Joe, and Tim. Frank and TO are on a mission this year and seem unstoppable. Ben can make a difference here if he steps up his game as he could get open with the focus on Tim and Mike. Jay, Tim, Rodney will be able to shut down Carbon’s Josh, Nigel, Cody. Higney will be a difference maker for Carbon’s defense. Carbon’s defense is a tad overrated due to their offense putting them in good field position and keeping the D off the field. Orange will score here against Carbon, Frank may get a pick here to change the tide. Carbon will roll on offense as usual. Jules and Peter Kalo, this is your time to step up for your team! Carbon wins 44-38 a close high scoring affair White vs Grey Grey is riding high after scoring a season best 22! Unfortunately they look destined for a toilet bowl appearance. White looked awful in the rematch of the cousin bowl, however, most teams look awful vs Carbon. Frank got the best of Billy and Hair Boy. I fear attendance will be an issue for an early game that is meaningless for these two squads. I hope they come out and play for pride and to improve against another weak opponent. Biebs and Luc is an interesting matchup. Biebs has the speed, both players have decent hands, the edge here might go to Luc because of Luc’s ability to play defence and Biebs focus on midterms. Neeraj will be open all day here with no one on grey to matchup vs him, perhaps King on defense can? Grey has the advantage with Mark, Alex, and Hazzzzlettttss, over White Brookeses and Jomo and dan. Interesting QB matchup, Long ball vs the short/interemate ball. Advantage to white for QB. I am going to ask Kyle Reynolds to step up vs Kyle Potter, battle of the Kyles! White will score against Grey, like most people, not because of Grey’s poor defence but more so because of Grey’s poor offense putting their D in bad positions. White wins 36-24 (A new season high predicting for grey to score!) Green vs Blue A finals rematch of last year and perhaps a finals preview?? Both QB’s have their offenses humming along nicely. Both have good mobility and do an excellent job drawing up plays. Edge to Blue with experience and accuracy/arm strength. Prove me wrong Jelani! Blue’s clarkins are uncoverable this year. Green’s Mario and Z have proven to be a dominant scoring duo as well. Speed vs size. Niether team will cover the other’s top two. Slight edge to blue here as a team can game plan to stop Mario, the other 3 top dogs in this game can’t be shut down. Russ, Kitch, Taylor matchup very well with Glenn, Duffy and Brandt. Edge to green here. Staff and Cain seem to be MIA with injuries. Bryan and stevins will outplay Jay and G Money, edge to blue. Both teams will score a bundle as usual. Can green step up their defense? I think they get a stop here, which they failed to do the last time these two teams met. Blue should get a stop or two as well. This game will come down to conversions. Every point matters. Asking Rodney and Da Silva to step up here! Blue wins a very close game 44-40. Red vs Black Important game for Black Red looks destined to meet grey in the toilet bowl. Black is looking better lately. Dylan, may be inexperienced but arm strength and accuracy give him the edge over Chambers here. Dylan also plays good D. I will assume Fab and TJ will show up? Fab against TJ will be an interesting math up. Speed vs size and hands. TJ is a better offensive player, Fab is the better defender. Edge to TJ here, brilliant football mind. Will and adiran have the speed over Drew and muragtoryd. Drew and muratrod have the hands and size. Edge to black here, muragtoryd is proving to be a force to be reckoned with when the ball is in the air. Jake and Arron vs Synder and craig. Youth vs experience. Speed of black vs football mind of red. Edge to Red Synder and craig, football sense matters in the playoffs and Synder and craig play solid D. Bottom half, edge to Red’s Warbird, Miggy and Jay over Black’s JJ and Sajeev and Mark. Robert Wilson and Daas (Auto) Nathan will step up here! Slight edge to Red’s roster, Edge to Black’s QB. QB matters most as we know. Black wins a close one. 32-28 Well if you do the math, moving on will be Green 1st seed, Blue Second seed over black based on points against (very close). Carbon 1st seed and Orange 2nd. Power rankings (Haven’t changed much all season) Carbon Blue Green Orange White Black Red/Grey Quick 3rd rounder comparison to NFL receivers Red-Adrian- Marvin Jones Jr (Lions) quick and undersized, hustles all over the place. Orange- Tim- Brandon Marshal, Best years are behind him but still very good player and outstanding hands Black-Drew-Crabtree- Size, decent speed, hands are good not great. Knows where the endzone is. Green-Matt Folco-Cole Beasley (Cowboys) Matt is more of a defense player. But like cole, run’s his routes and makes the plays asked of him. Not much is asked of him however. Grey-Mark- Danny Amendola- Not outstanding speed. Good hands and athletism. Tough player. White- Jomo- Jermemy Maclin- Been around a while, good hands not great, great route runner. Carbon-Nigel-Devante Parker (Miami)- Athletitism is there, deep threat, good hands and speed, still new to the league. Blue-Glenn-Harry Douglas (Titans)- Been around a while, solid hands, not blazing speed or size, finds ways to get open Correct me if I am wrong about the playoff scenarios Have a good week! I regret to inform you that this will be my last (and only) season and I will be retiring from the pundit stage and focusing on play on the field. Hopefully someone carrys the torch next year for me. If you wish to find out my identity, come to the banquet! Only 2 more posts for me after this one! |

Appreciate your column every week, always look forward to the read. You will be missed. Hopefully someone else does carry the torch. |

Posted By: Halloween Posted On: Oct 31st, 2017 Views: 2682 | Who are the top 3 scariest qbs? Receivers ? Defenses?
|
Posted By: Snyder Posted On: Oct 31st, 2017 Views: 2677 | I will respond on behalf of team black...
Scariest QB - Chambers Scariest receiver - Miguel, warbird, TJ, Adrian, Ciaran, will Scariest defenders - rod “the rod”, Craig, jay, snyder |
Posted By: Snyder Posted On: Oct 31st, 2017 Views: 2676 | That is right team black - we know how scared you are with the season on the line and team red will be there Saturday to destroy your playoff dreams. Mwwwaaahhhhaaaahhhhaaaa! |
Posted By: Adam Schefter Posted On: Oct 31st, 2017 Views: 2673 | The WMFL Network has been hearing unsubstantiated rumours that team black is attempting to trade albatross players Andrew murgatroyd and drew walker to team red for Craig Klassen and Matt Snyder in a desperate bid to stand any chance to win this week.
When asked, league representative Matt Snyder was quoted as saying, “I can neither confirm nor deny this rumour. But I can say that notwithstanding the brilliance of this tactic the league would never allow such a blockbuster trade in the midst of the playoffs.” I will keep the league appraised as this story develops. |
Posted By: Championship Odds Posted On: Oct 31st, 2017 Views: 2643 | Carbon hasn't really made a mistake all season. There is no doubt they are in the driver's seat and favourite but there are a few teams that certainly have a claim. Green slipped up against Blue and had a tight game against Carbon. Jelani has developed a bit of a rep as regular season stud, playoff mud or crud. His team this year is stacked, and I don't think that happens. Orange has shown when they have their top dogs, they are tough to contend with. Colin is playoff tested so noone will be surprised if this team is in the finals. Blue will be scary if they get in, but it may not be up to them. Even if they beat Green, a motivated Black can make the points against thing interesting. I can't see Blue totally shutting down Green's juggernaut offense, so even a 46-32 Blue win, will give Black a chance. These games are at the same time, so there may be some cross field watching. If Black gets in, they will play Carbon or Orange in the semi's, so there celebration may be short lived. But you are saying there is a chance?
Updated odds: Carbon .75:1 Green 1.25:1 Orange 2.5:1 Blue 10:1 Black 20:1 Red, White, and Grey mathematically eliminated. |
Posted By: Murgatroyd Posted On: Oct 31st, 2017 Views: 2630 | Sorry boys I signed a no trade clause with Dylan!!
Plus Chambers would be getting the short end the stick by losing his top 2 receivers. |

Mugratron for MVP! |
Posted By: Little Birds Posted On: Oct 31st, 2017 Views: 2598 | If you are paying attention, you know that Spack has Jelani's number head-to-head, especially in the playoffs. So while there is no love for Blue on this board, we know what needs to be done Saturday and you heard it here first, it will be done.
Black beat us in week 1 of the playoffs, Black at full strength and us with barely enough players to play AND our best player out for the 2nd half. We came this close to winning that game anyway so don't pin your hopes on Black. Blue is on a mission to repeat and no one, not Green, definitely not Black nor any other team will stop us. If you listen closely to the whispers, and you'll learn the truth. |
Posted By: observer Posted On: Oct 31st, 2017 Views: 2592 | Green is going to beat Blue by a few scores.
It won't be close. Book it. |
Posted By: Excuses Posted On: Oct 31st, 2017 Views: 2588 | @ Little Birds
Anymore excuses you want to throw down as to why Blue lost to Black? Did Spack also have a cold? Did Kyle have a little bruise? Come on man, your team lost, give credit where credit is due. |
Posted By: @little birds Posted On: Oct 31st, 2017 Views: 2585 | When you say repeat you mean Spack and Clarkins and Stevins.
Guess that’s a hint who you are. |

Posted By: two best teams? Posted On: Nov 1st, 2017 Views: 2481 | Whats the best final we are hoping for?
Carbon vs Orange Carbon vs Green Orange vs Blue Green vs Blue Green vs Orange Do we want black even in there? |
Posted By: @Two Best Teams Posted On: Nov 1st, 2017 Views: 2464 | The finals everyone wants to see is:
BLUE vs CARBON or BLUE vs ORANGE Let's be honest, we all saw Jelani in the finals last year and it wasn't pretty. Also, everyone wants to see Blue battling for the belt as everyone like to publicly cheer against Spack, but deep down you love to see him play. If the finals ain't got Spack it ain't shit. |
Posted By: Best finals Posted On: Nov 1st, 2017 Views: 2421 | I disagree and think three of the best finals didn’t include your hero Spack.
Colin beating Raf when raf had Kari Kari and TO. Noah beating Colin a couple of years ago. Noah beating Miller on a last play field goal from Duncan in a crazy shootout. |
Posted By: Vegas Odds Posted On: Nov 2nd, 2017 Views: 2373 | Noah (Carbon) vs Colin (Orange) -> Carbon(-3.5)
Nick (White) vs King (Light Grey) -> White(-14.5) Spackman (Royal) vs Jelani (Green) -> Green(-1.5) Chambers (Red) vs Dylan (Black) -> Black(-7) |
Posted By: Quiet Board Posted On: Nov 2nd, 2017 Views: 2346 | Not even Billy |
Posted By: @Best Finals Posted On: Nov 2nd, 2017 Views: 2338 | When did Noah ever face Miller in the finals???
I think Miller only ever made the finals once and based on the pictures on the site he won (2011). So I discount your opinion as you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. |
Posted By: Tank Posted On: Nov 2nd, 2017 Views: 2322 | Board sounds quiet because there are games that mean a whole lot happening this weekend. No one wants to trash talk in fear of jinxing their team.
That being said, YOU'RE GOING DOWN ORANGE! Carbon is about to lay the beat down on you and mop the floor with your tears. We are going to rough up Mike and Tim and make Joe regret ever cutting his hair. Short hair! HA! |
Posted By: Frank Sucks ! Posted On: Nov 2nd, 2017 Views: 2316 | Frank Sucks ! |
Posted By: Team Red Posted On: Nov 2nd, 2017 Views: 2315 | Team Red is not mathematically eliminated We will beat Black by 60 eliminating Black and Green will beat Blue by 60 eliminating Blue. So Ha we will win the finals beating Orange and or Carbon/Green. Team RED GO TEAM RED!!! |
Posted By: Murgatroyd Posted On: Nov 2nd, 2017 Views: 2308 | @Team Red
Haha Thanks I needed a good laugh. The only way you score 60 is if Klassen and Snyder play O the whole game.. |
Posted By: King Posted On: Nov 2nd, 2017 Views: 2287 | If anyone forgot a pair of under armour sandals last week I will have them Saturday |
Posted By: Potter Posted On: Nov 3rd, 2017 Views: 2230 | That would be me....also late on this but someone snatched up a black knee support 3-4 weeks ago that wasn't theirs ... |
Posted By: Jay P Posted On: Nov 4th, 2017 Views: 2183 | Blue sucks! GO GREEN!!! See you next week. Good luck |
