Historically the turnout has been ok on the long weekend, but I've heard a lot of people complaining about having to reschedule their get weekend getaways. It's the last weekend of summer! Is there any way we can go back to the weekend after Labour Day? I know it pushes the season a little later, but c'mon man, it's football!

Things I Love Jelani won a couple of chips with Dave and had the chance to play with him a fourth time.. and said “no thanks”. Schedule makers are genius as they have Jelani vs the Daves week 1. Could set the tone for the whole season. Speaking of awesome schedule makers, 2019 Finals rematch of Kyle vs Noah also in week 1. How does Noah pick a team every year where I recognize no players, but by week 5 they are championship favourites?? Also love that there are Clarkin’s spread out across half the teams this year. Things I Hate Hate the 17 day wait from draft night till week 1. Hate that we seem to have lost some staples of our league this year probably due to the year off. We did seem to get a fair amount of new blood so hopefully they will quickly realize what we all live about this league. Good luck old vets, rookies and everyone in between!

A quick heads up that I still learning the league and the players. Preseason rankings Contenders: 1) Pink (Kyle) Kyle has proven he is a dynamite QB and his drafting ability this year is very solid. This team is an early title favourite. With the speed of Giorgio and Jordan and the uncoverable Neeraj it makes a very formidable top 3. A very nice sneaky pick with Steve at 4 will help solidify the D. Rodney and Jules are seasoned vets. Waleed is a good athelet that could break out this year as he learns the game more. The young Nick Mikos can help design plays with Kyle. The one person I am not aware of is Regai Buffet but I friggen love the name so I am a fan. This team will score a boat load, their defence should be middle to top of the league as well with the offense putting them in good positions all year. 2) Jelani (Grey) Excellent draft by Jelani with maybe the best top 3 in the league. Luc and Remi are top dogs and somehow getting Grae on team grey is a steal. These guys will be fire on both sides of the ball, particularly D as Jelani runs a good defence himself, 4 shutdown defenders is scary. Not to mention all the speed for Jelani on O. Unfortunate I am unfamiliar with Ryan, Rion, Jerry, and Dante but they have an excellent mentor with a championship pedigree with Jelani and I have a feeling we will get to know these guys very fast. Rodney is rejoining J again to add some veteran talent to this relatively new team. Jamie, David and Nahgreib are some more players I am excited to learn about. All the unknowns being said, I still cant get over the awesome top half of this roster. Definitely a top contender. I see this team being stronger on D than O, but both sides of the ball should be top 3. 3) Spack (White) Really tough call here, I wasn’t sure to put Spack here or Noah but so much is unknown with Noah’s squad as usual. Spack is a top QB every year which makes anyteam he runs a contender. Linking up with Z for the millionth time will bring comfort to both players. Excellent draft after that with seasoned veterans with trophies to their name in Mario and Kitch, both are very strong on O and even better defenders. Robert Wilson is a sneaky pick by Spack and should pay dividends. Anyone with 3 names like Quincy James Jr is sure to be a stud. Maybe the steal of the draft is Alex Lindsay who is an excellent and tall defender who has played with Spack before. Folco is always a solid pick as he can play anywhere, including center or rush. Dave, Jason, and Doug are staples in this league that will help guide this team to glory. I am unaware of James, but Spack must know something to pick him that high so ill trust that. This team should score easily as Spack runs a solid O, I am worried about the D as there seems to be only 2 defensive specialists in Kitch and Mario. Bubble teams 4) Noah ( Carolina Blue) I have a feeling this will be a contender team as usual but there is just so many unknowns for me, albeit I am new to this analysis thing. Noah always runs an excellent offense. The Jamie pick is unreal, he should be the consensus number 1 overall if there were no blocks, the best defender and receiver. I have not met Jason but he must be excellent to be picked so high so I am looking forward to that. Jack is a steal in the third and will prove himself to be a 2nd rounder by years end. Veterans Jomo and Peter will have to help out the new faces in Derek, Justin, Jesse, Tony and the McHendys. Even with so much unknown with this team I know Noah will be able to score as usual. My questions are with the defense as that side of the ball is more difficult to learn for newer players. Prove me wrong guys! 5) Joe/Jesus? (Red) Apparently Joe is Jesus so that is a big factor here. Unknown at QB but sources say he has an arm but may struggle with decision making. How can Jesus ever be wrong? Rarley an unknown QB will be ranked this high but jeezUS what a draft. Joeseph is a stud, even being in the league for such a short time. T.O is always impossible to cover. Bryce is excellent on both sides of the ball. Mark is now becoming a seasoned Vet. Edwards has been around for seemingly forever and will provide excellent leadership and morale boosting for the young QB. Parker and Higney are defensive Studs. I am sure all these veterans can get mike andre and trevor in line. I think this defense will be okay, and with all the atheltes on offense the receivers should be open, I just question if Jesus can get the ball there. Nonetheless this is a bubble team Pretenders 6) Glenn (Yellow) Apparently everyone is allowed to trash talk Frank? This puts them as a pretender. Glenn’s solid leadership and play design will help this team. Frank is still a top 5 pick as he is dominant on both sides of the ball. Tim and Ben seem to have been top picks in this league forever and always show up in excellent shape ready to play. I am pretty sure I remember Harrsion from past seasons but I could be mistaken. Even so, this team has a very solid top half of the draft which should carry them on D and be open all day on O. I think I have heard the name Pinto before but I cant be sure, shine for me Alex! Duffy and Smart are excellent late picks that I feel should always be picked higher. The clarkins and Katradis at the bottom are excellent lockerroom guys that are bound for a splash play here and there. I know this team is in the pretenders category but I feel as though they will sneak a few wins over the top dogs this season with all the talent and veteran leadership on this team. I question the offense more than the defence which I think will be stout, however, the offense could put them in some bad spots. 7) Drew (Royal) Tough spot to be in the bottom 2. A great draft as Drew knows his stuff clearly, I just see this team struggling to score. Tyler splitting from Joeseph makes him a great first rounder. Murgatron could very easily have been a 1st rounder so this top 2 picks are excellent and provide size and speed on both sides of the ball. Jake provides Drew with one of the fastest players in the league and he has been around a while now too. Veterans of Will and JJ will help as Will is excellent on D and JJ on O. Ben and Tim add more leadership to this team on both sides of the ball and it is great to see Tuna back in the league! Perhaps some halfback options as Tuna has been known to toss a good ball or two. Lance and Riley round out this squad. Much with team yellow, I worry about the O here which can hurt the defense. 8) Jack (Black) School of rock anyone? The unknown QB in jack has tons of potential and with his arm and draft I can see this team climbing the rankings quickly. I just cant put them up yet until I see Jack’s ability to throw, rumor has it he was quite the QB in HS. Excellent top picks will really help Jack as all are top players on both sides of the ball with plenty of expereicnce. Nick is always a top player which will be a great outlet as he is uncoverable one on one. Adam and TJ are more sure handed players that specialize on offense. Synder will be running the D and lock down anyone! He has help from Criag and Staff on D. Noah Patrick and Pete are more Vets to help lead this team. Wyatt may be new but I have a feeling he will be drafted higher next year. I have lots of hope this team will be able to score as Jack did draft many offensive weapons. Will the be able to form a solid D? Top offense teams: 1) Pink 2) White 3) Tie with Carolina Blue and Grey 4) . 5) Yellow 6) Red 7) Black 8) Royal Top Defense teams: 1) Grey 2) Yellow 3) Red 4) Pink 5) White 6) Royal 7) Carolina Blue 8) Black Stay tuned for Week 1 picks Feel free to agree or disagree as I am new to this analysis stuff.

Posted By: Colin Cowherd 2.0 Posted On: Aug 29th, 2021 Views: 1179	Week 1 predictions: I plan to use the spreads given to me by an earlier message board post so whoever that is please keep it up as it saves me time from phone vegas for the lines and provides more reading material for the league for others to agree or disagree. Excellent looking spreads this week. Early warning, I need to learn the new guys. Pink (kyle) vs Carolina Blue (Noah) Kyle favoured by 8.5 Finals rematch of the QBs week one! Although, these rosters look much different than the last year’s finals. Oops it wasn’t last year that was two years ago due to the pandemic. QB matchup is very close, Kyle has quickly proven that he is a top QB in this league and Noah seemingly is always running a top tier offense. Slight edge to Kyle in this spot as Kyle has been playing more lately with the extra year off. Comparing the top 3 for each team is tough. Noah has the best player by a mile with Jamie there but I am unsure about Jason and Jack is always steady. Kyle has the better top 3 with Giogio’s blazing speed and the uncoverable Neeraj and a sneaky pick with Jordan in the third round. Kyles top 3 are more geared towards O. Maybe Jason will prove me wrong. I don’t know Derek but I do know Steve is consistent and the edge is with Steve. Jay Rodney and Jules and Waleed will have the edge in week one over Jomo Justin and Jesse and Peter but later in the season this could be different as the new guys learn the league. I am also giving the edge to Kyles squad for the late picks solely because Regai Buffet has an excellent name, All you can eat!!!!! Tony and the Mchendys have their work cut out for them. Based on all of the comparisons Kyle’s squad has the edge all over the field, excellent draft. Even looking at the preseason rankings I created this should be Pink’s game even though I am sure Noah and Jamie will keep it interesting. Take pink to win and cover the spread. Pink 38 – Carolina Blue 22. Jack (Black) vs Drew (Royal) This really feels like a movie title btw. Drew is a half point Fav Both QBs are new to throwing this year however Drew has been in the league for ages and has thrown quiet often. Experience Edge to Drew, Arm talent to Jack. Ill call the QBs even for now until I get a better analysis on Dewey Finn. Both top 3 picks are very solid and I think they even out. Both have a nice mix of size and speed and experience. Dewey has Nick as a burner and a top pick in the league with the size of King and Hands of TJ, I worry about these 3 on D though. Drew has 2 monsters with Tyler and Murgatron as well as the speed of Jakey. Very slight edge to Drew here. Snyder and Will are both solid players and even better people. Edge to Synder. Noah, Staff and Craig will out duel JJ, Ben and Tim. Those trio’s are very close and tons of experience but I have to go with Craig and Staff being excellent late round picks. Scott has been absent forever, great to see him back, because of that I will give him a slight edge over the youngster Wyatt. Team black also has the edge with unstoppable pete and young Patrick over Lance and Riley. As you can see the odds makers did an excellent job as the teams are very even all the way through with tons of veterans on both sides. So basically all of that analysis was for nothing and I have to go with my Gut. No nerves for Mr. Finn here, Jack takes his first win in his first start. Black 26 – Royal 18 Red (Jesus) vs Yellow (Glenn) Jesus has a 0.5 edge in this game according to the bookies, maybe these bookies have no thumbs. Glenn and Jesus are very different QBs which makes this hard to compare. Glenn has proved he can win in this league even with shorter throws, his play design is excellent. Jesus has a bigger arm but lacks experience as I believe he has only started a few games in his illustrious career. Call the QBs even for now until I see more from Jesus. Frank has the edge over Joeseph even though Joeseph has game breaking potential, advantage yellow. Tim and Ben are very solid players both ways and play hard but I like T.O and Bryce here as T.O is still very tough to cover and Bryce can play both ways with his athleticism advantage red. Mark and Edwards take the advantage over Pinto and Harrison, I need to see more from the yellow duo, another advantage red. Duffy plays hard always but Danny is an excellent rusher and sneaky good hands, call these two even. Smart and Steven are solid vs Higney and Macri, I need to see more from Macri so the advantage is with yellow here, I am always surprised how Higney and Smart falls in the draft every year, both are solid players. I don’t know enough about andre and trevor so ill take yellow with bryan and the amazing Billy, notice Billy gets a capital letter in that sentence. Both teams should be very solid on defence. I am taking another young gun here and trusting Red will get it rolling on offense. This game should be very close. Had the spread been 3 I don’t know what I would have picked. Red wins a nail biter. Red 20 – Yellow 18 One convert changes it all. Spack (White) vs Jelani (Grey) Game of the week somehow, and not the finals rematch. Spack is favoured by a half point. Both have excellent experience and design a solid offence. Jelani also has the ability to extend plays and play solid D. Spack has the ability to put up more points on O. Call these even. The top 3 for Grey is unreal, Luc and Remi/y are top players and Grae rounds out these top 3 who all are crazy athletic for Jelani and also play great D. White counters with Z, Mario and Geoff, who are solid in their own right, however, I just cant see white keeping up with the speed of grey for the top 3 here, advantage grey. I don’t know Ryan and Rion enough so I have to go with Robert and Junior for the advantage white. Again I am unsure of Jerry and Dante, Alex and Folco can both play ball so another advantage for white. I think Rodney has played with Jelani before so Ill take that matchup over James for now, advantage grey. Warbird and Jason are seasoned vets so ill take their experience over Jamie and David for now until I learn more. Miller and Dougie is a wash for now, I think Doug has been in the league forever, Call that even. With all the comparisons completed, I think Jelani and team Grey get the last laugh as their defence is ranked number 1 and they will get a few more stops than team white even though team white’s D was ranked 1 pip higher. Take the underdog Grey to win this matchup. Grey 36- White 32 A reminder of the preseason rankings which I am sure will change 1) Pink 2) Grey 3) White 4) Carolina Blue 5) Red 6) Yellow 7) Royal 8) Black Enjoy gentlemen!
