Black is getting overrated after playing a weaker team.

Similar for Red.

Both need to show something against a Spack, Noah, Jelani.

Jelani looked like the best team Saturday.

Was Carolina Blue defense that good or was Pink that bad? If Blue is this good, they are 1 and 1A with Jelani.

White will be fine.

Yellow and Black are on a collision course for toilet bowl.

Great to be back!

Ah, hot takes….
You don’t know Jack. Sweet beard. Monster arm. Incredible touch. Teams need to watch out. Nothing weak about Royal Blue, that’s a good team and will shut down lesser offences.
Jack has nothing to prove against those wanna-be’s you referenced - Spack? What? Jelani? Who? Noah? How? Old. Decrepit. Has-beens.
There’s a new Sheriff in town to challenge Kyle as top qb in the league.
Know Jack, WMFL. Welcome to the future.

Here is my reaction to week 1’s games. Stay tuned for week 2 picks. Week 2 picks can be difficult as it is a tourney weekend and absences will be an issue.

This segment is called:
Where Colin was Right! Where Colin was Wrong.

Kyle (Pink) vs Noah (Carolina Blue) I picked pink to win 38 to 22, Oh boy was I wrong.

Noah’s team won this by 8 but they seemed to have this game in hand and the score indicates it was closer than it actually was. Jamie played like a rockstar which I predicted but not this dominant, 4 ints and 14 points was excellent. I was worried about Noah’s team’s defence but I shouldn’t have been. I am not sure if this was a combination of Blue playing well or Pink just being rusty. I think Kyle will get his squad in line soon as he was able to find several targets to score and not just Giorgio but Jules, Rodney, Nick and Neeraj, this is not a championship hangover for pink. Blue had a fewer players out which allowed them to keep their top dogs on more often. Jack had a solid game for blue with 6 and a pick and there was contributions from Jomo and Peter. I was shocked the more inexperienced squad took an early season matchup.

Black (Jack) vs Royal (Drew) I picked Black to win this battle by 8 but they won by a lot more.

Jack showed he is able to march the ball up and down the field against Royal. This was a combination of Black playing well but also capitalizing on field position since Royal was inept on offense which put their defense in trouble with 6 ints thrown as well as difficulty moving the ball, Megatron and Tyler will need some help scoring this year from the other members of the squad. For a rookie QB Jack was able to spread the ball around and not focus on one target with multiple scores for Nick, Pete, TJ and Kinger, and added contributions from Patrick. I am curious to see if Black is actually this good or if they picked on a weaker Royal. Royal has some work to do and changes to make otherwise they could be in for a long season. I need to see more from both teams before I can determine their offense and defensive prowess.

Red (Jesus) vs Yellow (Glen) I picked Red to win by 2 but they won by 16.

Rookie Jesus was able to show off his arm strength and get the ball to multiple players to score. Hopefully he doesn’t focus on one side of the field all year but it worked this day as he spread the ball to Bryce for multiple scores and Joeseph Rocca looked dominant with the ball in the open field. T.O pitched in as well with 2 points and an int. The defence was stellar and my early pick for sacks has switched and now gets INTS, Danny boy. Franky for Yellow did Tank things as usual but couldn’t carry this team even with help from Pinto and Ben. Tim is also looking solid this year. I think this Yellow team will get some wins and I disagree with people saying they are toilet bowl bound, no over reactions after 1 week, yellow will be a fine middle tier team as they should be able to score more and their defense should be solid as they had no idea how to play Jesus and Rocca. I am curious to see if Red can keep up the offensive output everyweek but they looked good which helped their defence.

Spack (White) vs Jelani (Grey). I got this game almost perfect as I said Grey would win by 4 and they won by 6.

I was shocked that this game was lower scoring. Both teams drives must have stalled often as there was only 2 ints thrown by white and 1 by grey. Jelani’s top picks proved worth it as the Brothers Luc and Remi both scored 6 helped by Ryan, Miller, and Jamie. Spack was able to find Alex and Z for the scores. I have a feeling these teams will meet again. Perhaps both team’s defenses are more stout than I thought or maybe the offenses are still taking time to click. Hopefully this game doesn’t result in White being too down on themselves and not play with confidence in the coming weeks and in the same way I hope that Grey isn't to high on themselves and thus not play hard in the following weeks.

I was 3 for 4 on the spreads
Looking forward to seeing the drone footage of the games!
Here is my updated Rankings!
1) Grey- Move up a spot to be the team to beat
2) Carolina Blue- up 2 spots Maybe up too high after 1 week but a win is a win for now
3) Pink- down 2 spots Played a tough week one matchup but I still think they are one of the favs
4) White- Down 1 spot, Played the top team but I think they will be okay
5) Red- Remaining steady at 5, I think I need another week before they move into the top 4
6) Black- Up 2 spots, looked good but vs a lower team, I need to see more
7) Yellow- down 1 spot- shocked by red this week I think they will bounce back
8) Royal- down 1 spot- ugly loss, they have a lot to prove

Weekly picks coming soon

Week 2 predictions:
No Spreads this week?? My predictions will be the spread then. Really messing with my prediction record so ill have to just see if I am close or not.
A lot of absences expected this week with tournaments and injuries

Glenn (Yellow) vs Kyle (Pink)

Ahhh a battle of father vs son. This should be interesting. Kyle has quickly proven himself to be a top QB but last week was ugly, id expect a bounce back game from him. Glenn should also get things rolling here in a bounce back week. Edge to the son in this battle. Top picks in this match is another family battle of cousins. Frank and Giorgio. They have different play styles but both are exceptional players. One is more aggression and one is more finesse, ill let you decide who is who. These two cancel eachother out. Tim and Ben vs Neeraj and Jordan also prove to be tricky here as I like Neeraj the best of the 4 here so give the slight edge to pink. I will take Steve and Jay for pink over Harrison and Pinto but this one is super close, Pinto can ball out. A battle of vets with Duffy and Smart vs Jules and Rodney, ill take the more mobile duo with duf and smart for yellow. The Clarkin duo and Billy trio for yellow will have a tough time matching up with waleed and buffet and nick so another edge to pink. This game has the potential makings of a blow out. I think Pink will be looking to prove they are a top team here. Sources also say Frank may be away at a tournament which doesn’t bode well for yellow. Pink will get the offense rolling and stop with the INTs and I think their defence will stymie a short handed yellow.
Pink 38 – yellow 14

Spack (white) vs Noah (blue)

A classic matchup of seasoned vets at QB. Both are excellent signal callers and have championship pedigree and lead their respective teams with a very different leadership style. The rumour mill is saying one of these QBs may be absent so I wont rank these 2 yet. Jamie is far superior to Z so the edge goes to Blue here, however, Jamie’s attendance may be in question. Mario and Geoff would be able to out dual Jason and Jackson I think but Mario’s attendance is also in question so Ill take double J for team blue here. Ill take Robert and Quincy over Derek and Jomo here but not by much, I feel as though all 4 players can play both ways. Alex and Matt vs Justin and Jesse is another close matchup now but Ill give this to team white as Alex put up good numbers last week. Warbird and James are dead even with Peter and Anthony, these are solid players for this late in the draft. I believe the McHendrys may be out this year but someone correct me if I am wrong, either way I would take Jason and Dougy. This matchup seems off with the absences and id like to see them play again with full rosters. My gut is saying Blue keeps it rolling after knocking off the top dogs in team pink. White may be reeling after a tough loss.
Blue 26- White 12

Jelani (Grey) vs Drew(Royal)

This game has the making to be a massive blowout but I believe Jelani is absent for tourney weekend making this a much closer matchup. I am not sure who is throwing for Grey so I cant rank the QBs yet. Luc proved he is ready to dominate this league so Ill give him the edge over Tyler who looked a little winded in week 1, Tyler will be ready to rock soon though ad to grey. Murg has the edge over Grae here but this is closer than one may think ad grey again. Remi and Jake are both speed demons but Remi seems to out rank all 3rd rounders, I should be putting him against second rounders but Id even take him over Murg, another ad to grey. Will and JJ are both studs in their own right but they will have trouble keeping up with the newer Ryan and Rion, edge to Grey here..again. Jerry and Dante are dead even with Ben and Timmy. Rodney and Jamie are just one pip below Elky and Lance, advantage to Royal here but maybe too little too late. Ill take David and Nahgeib over a single Riley, however, a smaller roster can mean Royal plays their horses more. Based on that analysis it should be a blowout but the missing QB scares me a little so this will be a little closer than I originally would have said. Still easy win for Grey.
Grey 34- Royal- 16

Jesus (red) vs jack (black)

Both rookie qbs shined in their week 1 victories against perhaps inferior teams though. Both marched their teams and spread the ball around which is a great thing for this league as we infuse more qbs in which helps everyone, excellent job, these two are even. Rocca vs Nick is an interesting matchup that one may quickly take the seasoned and proven Nick but I think Rocca is making a run to be top pick next year, call this even. King vs TO is a fun one to watch, Jesus has found a liking to TO and Jack to King, both have been around a while, call this a slight edge to T.O for Red. TJ vs Bryce is a fun one to watch, id rather compare the TO and TJ matchup and Bryce vs King as I think they will be matched up. But Bryce proved he is here to stay as a top rounder and TJ is still TJ, sure handed on both sides of the ball. Ill take TJ for now for team black, this may be different in a year or 2. Also TJ may be tourney bound. Synder and Noah have the advantage over Mark and Edwards but not by much. Staff and Craig is a great duo as craig should be drafted higher, Danny and Mike will have their hands full, edge to team Black. I like the young duo of Wyatt and Patrick over Higney and Andre, ad to black. Pete is awesome, sorry trevor, this is an ode to pete and nothing against you, ad black. Black seems to have a lot of small advantages here but I worry they are riding high after an easy win and may be shocked when they play a stout team like team red. This will be a close game.
Red 28- Black 22

Copying my rankings here
1) Grey- Move up a spot to be the team to beat

Glenn was definitely in front of the line of scrimmage on one of the final plays and likely also in front on that touchdown to Tank. Call that back. We need a stat correction.

Pre-Season Ranks
1)Kyle
2)Spackman
3)Noah
4)Jelani
5)Jack
6)Joe
7)Glenn
8)Drew

___________________________________________

1)Noah 1-0
2)Jelani 1-0
3)Kyle 0-1
4)Spackman 0-1
5)Jack 1-0
6)Joe 1-0
7)Glenn 0-1
8)Drew 0-1

Can firmly say that the bottom half will stay the same for now.... until we find out if either Jacks team is very underrated or Drews team needs a designated day for practice to catch up to the rest of the league.

Noah and Jelani deserve the top two spots based on wins against previous higher rankings teams.

As always, stay healthy.
