Did the pylons seem shorter this year and why were there so many of them? Did they shrink and multiply during off season storage?

No, Clarkiins have always been that short, although they do multiply most winters.

I heard that Mark Murray rescued a selection of endangered turtles from the zoo then took them to a sanctuary in Costa Rica where he also runs a yoga, meditation and surf retreat.

Week 1 recap! Where Colin was right, and where Colin was wrong! 2 times I was right, 2 times I was wrong this week. 2/4 aint bad, I was almost 50% but I guess I will settle for batting .500 ;) Hard to predict how new teams gel together

Royal vs White COLIN WAS WRONG

I predicted Royal to win this by 8 and I cited reasons that I thought Royal had the better top end of the roster but White had the better QB and depth, It seems I should have trusted a QB who can use his weapons properly. White won this by 12 so I was wrong here. Spack is starting the year off strong as he looks to bounce back from a poor season last season. Is Jesus heading for a sophomore slump? I don’t think so, just a tough matchup here to begin. Spack spread the ball around nicely to Mario, Carson, Glenn and last years scoring champ Bryce. Team white was humming on offense, not giving up any sacks or ints! Solid start. Royals offense had a few hiccups it looks like, or would you say that White’s defense was solid. Jesus spread the ball to his top guns in G and Neeraj and Bailey got in the endzone as well. Their downfall seems to have been the interception by Carson and the 4 sacks to the amazing sack master Danny parker and even Bryce got in there with a sack. White is going to look to keep it rolling vs Gold next week which may be the matchup of the day as Gold looked solid as well. Royal looks forward to playing team Black who struggled in week 1.

Black vs Gold COLIN WAS RIGHT

I predicted Gold to win by 24 and they won by 32, so I will still count this as a correct pick. When you look at the stat board you see a ton of Gold players, and the steal of the draft Wyatt on all 3 leaderboards. Maybe Wyatt shouldn’t be locked into a 5th round pick, the league is on notice. Gold’s offense came alive in the second half. Kyle spread it around to everyone it seems, Luc, Remy, Dougie, Taylor, Tim and the MVP front runner Wyatt. Kyle was smart and found the correct matchups for his guys. Luc was unbelievable as usual with a sick TD at full speed and dangled and broke ankles. Remys speed was almost unstoppable. Black was awesome in the first half, Drew looked poised. Jack scored the 12 points for black. It seems team Black was missing their top gun Maverick Jamie in this one as they needed more juice on both sides of the ball. Remy, Tim and Wyatt were able to intercept team black and steven did well to record 2 sacks on team black. Wyatt also recorded a sack, have a day young fella! Teams should be concerned as the young kids for team black will only get better. It will be nice to see these teams in the playoffs as they grow and will look different with Jamie and Kinger back. Gold has a great matchup with team white next and we can see if they are as good as they looked here. Black has a matchup with team Royal where both are looking to get off the shinde.

Red vs GrAy WHERE COLIN WAS WRONG

I predicted Gray to come out here on top by 6 in the finals rematch of QBs but Red pulled out a nail biter by 2 points. I forgot that Jelani uses the regular season much like Bill Belichick uses September, for experimental purposes and he rises to glory in the playoffs. Silly Colin was wrong here. There was some controversy in this one with Franky and the refs but I will leave that out. This is the regular season after all, but I am sure playoff time there will be some vengeance wanted. Jack played well spreading the ball to his players and getting Grae, Nick, Jordan and Noah for scores. Nicky also kicked a FG to win it, controversy how that got set up perhaps? Jack avoiding throwing any INTs and getting Sacked, an awesome start to his Sophomore season. Jelani was able to find Grae JJ and Rion for scores but Noah and Patrick were also able to catch it for team Red. Team Gray has outstanding cast of atheletes and vets that certainly will not back down, Never Back Down is a great fighting movie by the way, as they look to contend with Light Blue next week. Red looks to keep it rolling and prove their win was no fluke or referee induced win as they take on Green next week.

Green vs Light Blue WHERE COLIN WAS RIGHT

I predicted Light Blue to win by 12 and they did, almost nailed the exact score also. I thought 46 to 34 but it was 44 to 32. This was a fun one as I thought as the game went score for score and making lots of adjustments on D. It appears Z was afraid of the Wrath of Raf, see what I did there? and did not show up. Green was able to get the first stop with a tip ball pick but it was quickly negated by a pick six from joe. After that blue kept green at bay with another pick by jake and sacks by young connor raf. Noah and team green looked good on O, Noah found the open player all day, along with TJ, TO, Justin, Jay and Will also found paydirt. TJ was the TJ of old, or young??? And had clutch catches as usual. Raf was clinical on offense and exploited the matchups all day. Jules, Mike Raf and Alex were able to find the endzone but today was about Joe. Joe piled up the YAC with some soul sucking jukes. Fortunately no legs were broken and all ligaments stayed in tact. Mental health is important, so we may need to have a psychologist on site for future games where Joe is playing and can do that again. Joe leads the league in scoring. While Tyler may have not found the endzone he played with a jousting stick on his arm extending his tall teach by another 8 inches all day. Team Gray, good luck with this Light blue team next week. Green looks to redeem themselves vs Red next week in the Christmas game.

That’s it for the recap. Stay tuned for this weeks predictions. Looking to have those ready by Thursday!

Power Rankings
1) Light Blue- Looked great and they stay up top
2) Gold- Up 2 spots with an impressive win
3) Red- Have to move them up 2 spots after beating preseason 3rd ranked team
4) White- Biggest jump from 8th to here
5) Gray- down 2 spots but they will be climbing again soon I am sure. Solid team still
6) Royal- Down from the 2 spot to 6 here. Need to show me something boys.
7) Black- down a spot- young team looks poised to be better every week
8) Green- I think this team has a lot of potential but someone has to be last for now.

Write it down in stone, I’m getting zero sacks this year but plenty of INTs. Straight up disrespect to take a sack away from my main Danny, they were all his! Jesus played great but I knew what he was thinking out there (see username). Our game definitely turned after I picked that off. Props to Giorgio for a difficult matchup, and Neeraj for being the nicest guy to walk this earth.

Also, anyone got the over/under on Frank&Glenn ejections for the year?? I think I want in on that one.

@Board
You motivated me to write my article a day early, sorry for the quiet board

Week 2 Predictions. On Fox Sports 1 I call this segment, the blazing 4. 2 and 2 last week so I am looking to improve upon that.

This is a TFONT tourney weekend so there may be some people missing, however, I couldn’t find any information on if it’s a TFONT tourney weekend so if anyone is missing this week we can safely assume they are not actually at a TFONT tourney but they are either at A) Anger Management B) Referee school C) Traveling to watch the epic matchup in the NFL this week, Jags and Commanders !! Also, is there a dumber name in all of sports, and they had a chance to make it something cool? Commanders? Really? Washington football team was a better name. Might as well call themselves the pelicans, that’s the worst I can think of.

9am North Field. Jack (Red) vs Noah (Green)

Team red is coming off a win and Green is looking to turn it around here. Both QBs looked good in week 1. Jack is getting better each week and clearly feeling confident in the league, Noah is as smooth and consistent as ever. I have to go with Green having the advantage here because of how amazing Noah is at defense 😉. Noah is just too good and finds the open man, not to say Jack doesn’t, but advantage green here. First rounders matchup is Z (if he shows up) vs Nick would be a good matchup to watch but a little bird told me Nick is absent this week. Nick would win this matchup but instead Z will be matching up with Grae, Grae is certainly a top player, but Ill go advantage green here. TJ vs Jordan, Jordan may have the speed edge and plays hard on D but TJ looked great in week 1 so Ill go advantage TJ and green again. TO is stellar everyear and looks in great shape this year, love the route running, Noah H will struggle to matchup with him and due to these first few mismatches I cant see red playing much man to man vs green. I will also take Green’s Justin, Will and Jay over Red’s David, Rodney and Patrick. I still need to learn more about Justin and David to make a more education analysis there. Tony, Peter and Dante, vs Reds Quincy and Alexander is too close to call, Quincy has so much potential so Ill go red advantage here. Justin and Kyle vs Big Pete and Aaron cody is another advantage for Red, I need to learn more from greens justin and kyle and reds aaron but I know big pete is a game changer. All that being said, Green should have the game here. It will be tough for Red to stop Green’s fire power. My concern is Green not holding reds offense down so this game will be closer than one may think. The power rankings have this as a red victory but the loss of Nick really hurts.
Green wins 42-26

9am South Field Jelani (GrAy) vs Matt (Light blue)

I have a feeling there may be some absences here with Jelani and Frank but I could be wrong. If Frank and Jelani I have to take Blue by a landslide. Maybe GrAY needs to have a week off from the emotions of their top gun. If Jelani were here he would make this closer as his ability to run an offense would rival Matt’s but I think Dylan will step in here so the QB matchup will still be close! Have to go with Matt here as Dylan is out of practice but maybe Dylan is fighting to be a QB next year and will be motivated. Frank vs Joe would be great to watch, elite D vs unstoppable O. Joe wins the match when he is on offense even though frank is great at D, but Frank wins the match when he is on offense. However, Frank will likely be absent for tournaments so Rion will have to cover Joe, Oh wait, Rion is absent also. Is there anyone that can cover Joe? Maybe they watched last week and didn’t want to show up for the embarrassment. Joe, Tyler, Geoff are going to eat on offense! Dylan throwing will have the likes of Kyle whom I need to learn more about, Robbie, JJ as his top guys. Blue has their top guys but can also counter with Jake and Alex Lindsay so the advantage again goes to Light Blue. I do like Dylans defense abilities to even things out there a bit. My assistants need to tell me more about Gray’s Darren, Markus, and Josh so I have to go with known commodities Duffy and Jules for team light blue and Jesse needs to show me more, take team light blue here. Connor is a stud already for team light blue and he has epic Jerry with him, but they matchup with seabiscuit and Billy so call it even! This game would be much more fun in the playoffs with full attendance. Unfortunately it looks like a blowout. Hope no one hurts themselves in this. Dylan prove me wrong!
Light blue wins. 56-14

1045am North Field Joe (Royal) vs Drew (Black)

Both winless teams here. Both showed some flashes last week but ultimately looked rough. Can jesus beat the sophomore slump? I think so. Drew needs to replicate his first half performance of last week to make this one a close game. Their team is based on D but they need Jamie. I think Jamie is still out, he is at anger management and referee school this week, and not actually hurt. Him and G would be a great matchup. Unfortunately, G now matches up with Murg, both are opposite players, size and jump ball vs speed and hustle on both sides of the ball. Give me G. Neeraj and Tim for Royal now have to stop Jack. Jack is awesome but this is a tough matchup. Jack is the better player on both sides of the ball but 2 vs 1 makes this tough. Call it Royal by just a hair. Ben and Jomo vs Black’s Snyder and Craig. Ben is a top tier player and shows flashes, and Jomo plays both sides of the ball with effectiveness. However, Snyder and Craig are too dominate to be drafted this late and they have the advantage for team black. Daniel and Mike are players I need to learn more about so I cant make a choice on them yet. Riley takes the cake for Black over Michael here, Riley will be a much higher pick next year, but rookies are lower for now. For the last 4 draft picks I need to learn more about Royal’s Bailey but Bryan, Nick and Regai are all studs. For team black I know Donaovan and Nahgrieb are excellent but I need to learn more about Brayden and Jai. Call this even here. Jamie needs to be here for team black, he is a game changer. Joe will be able to redeem himself and find G and Neeraj and the open man. Black has excellent D but will struggle vs the firepower here. Maybe they need to play a mix of man and zone to watch G and Neeraj and zone the rest of the field. Black has the defenders to do so, as drew himself is stellar. Black has a chance to score here as Royal’s D looked shakey in weak one and isn’t as good as Gold was with the semanskis and company. This game is closer than my analysis may have said.
Royal wins 30-20

1045am South Field White-Spack vs Gold-Kyle
Matchup of the day!

Both QBs looked excellent in week 1. Kyle has more fire power but still spread the ball around nicely. Spack found the open receiver all day. I would like to call this even but I like Kyle’s mobility and ability to play D if need be. Gold has Luc in the top spot and White has Mario, both play good on both sides of the ball but Luc is a game changer these days, take Gold. Remy vs Bryce is a great one to watch, scoring champ and size vs the speed champ. Both players are getting better every year and its great to see the talent in whitby! Take Remy for Gold here but Bryce will still make his plays. King vs Steve, Have to go with King on team gold here, no slight to steve. Gold has Taylor and Wyatt vs White’s Harrison and Carson, this would be a close matchup but after seeing Wyatt’s dominance last week I have to go with Wyatt and team gold. Timmy the great and Waleed for gold matchup with Pinto and Sack master, how can anyone go against the sack master??? Give me Danny here for team white. Young Patty and Stevey for team gold match up with James and the epic Ed Hochuli referee Glen Clarkin! Not sure who to with, Ed Hochuli is ripped and has the refs on his side 😉 or the young guns for team gold. Call this even, Glenn is too good, ask frank, they didn’t even play eachother last week. Dougy Heffernan vs Richard, have to go with dougy and team gold. Rodney Harrison vs Peyton Hillis Clarkin will be fun also call it even for now. Great matchup here. Gold has the advantage all over the roster but they will still struggle to stop Spack, you cant sit in a zone or man, spack will pick it apart even with inferior athletes. Spack will score but gold should get some stops. On the other hand, gold should be able to run rapid on offense, they have too much speed and talent and kyle will exploit it. Gold wins this one close.
Gold wins a fantastic game. 32-30

Good luck this week everyone!

Dyl will sling it this weekend, played QB in our Burlington league 3 weeks ago and we scored 9/10 drives. Light blue is an absolute force this year but I think my boy Dyl will play well.

Team light blue is not taking team Gray lightly, especially with Dyl The Thrill throwing, he can sling it with the best of them.

I’ve been asked to bring my reporting skills to the WMFL, to comment on a game each week. This week I’ll speak to the bruiser game - black and blue. I’ve been informed that Giorgio may not play, great odin’s raven that spells doom for blue. While not the great Satan of the WMFL (any guesses who that might be?) we do know that drew has dabbled in the arcane arts and has pledged his first born to the devil for a shot at beating the Jesus. Will good win over evil? Does sex panther work? The only thing that will save team black will be if Brick shows up. Blue by 17.5 points in a slugfest.
Keep it Klassy, Whitby.

I am posting anonymously so I don’t get fired. I work at the hospital and pulled mark Murray’s birth records in the hopes there might be clues leading to his whereabouts.

According to the records, other than being born with webbed feet, Marks parentage is unclear. His birth mother was a wrestler on what (according to the internet) was at the time the Oshawa-York womens wrestling league. The father, or seed, as he was identified, is listed only as ‘muscle-man’ with the initials C.K.

I may have said too much, my supervisor is asking for a TPS report of my activities. Good luck in your quest to find Mark Murray.

Hope your ankle is better and again - sorry about the excessive celebration on the first play. I played in your shoes twice last year - two games, short roster. It’s a tough go to say the least.
