 To recap last Saturday:

Both games in Pool B came down to the final play:
- Green, down by 8 drove the length of the field, but came up just short.
- Red tied the game with 3 plays left. Black responded by launching two long plays, then Kinger iced it with a long field goal to win and advance.
- Royal Blue finished first in Pool B due to the head-to-head result vs black.
- Green finished 3rd at 1-2 due to the head-to-head vs red.

In Pool A, there were wider margins.
- White finished 3-0, Carolina Blue 2-1, Purple 1-2, and Coal Grey 0-3.

Remaining Schedule:
Saturday September 11th:
9am* tie games will be decided with a fast OT (See Refs re Fast NCAA Style OT Rules)
- Red vs Purple
- Green vs Coal Grey

10:45am - Games will be paused at 11am for a minute of silence in honour of Remembrance Day.
*tie games will be decided with a NCAA Style OT (See refs re specific OT Rules)
- Royal Blue vs Carolina Blue
- White vs Black

 Shoutout to Red for a hell of a game. We had some chances in the first half to run away with it, and then you guys played exceptional in the 2nd half. Sucks that somebody has to lose a game like that, but also those are the kinds of games that make this league so fun.

Looking forward to the challenge of going up against Team White this weekend, they’re a tough puzzle to solve. But I’m also looking forward to one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced, and that’s the moment of silence on the field with all you beauties. It’s wild to think that men as young as some of the youngest guys on our teams fought and died for this country. Canada might not be perfect, but I don’t think there’s a better country out there. So standing out there on that grass, in our cleats, competing hard but with a deep respect for our teammates and opposition, it’s a sobering moment of how lucky a generation we are. I’m hopeful that our kids experience the same relatively easy life that we’ve been blessed with.

I appreciate every one of you knuckleheads, even (especially?) when it gets heated.

Nov 18:
9am (25-minute halves). Losers of this weeks 9am games play in a shortened 7th place game aka the toilet bowl.
10am: (25-minute halves) Winners of 9am games play for 5th. Losers of 10:45 play for 3rd.
11am. Finals. Full length game.
Banquet at Tap and Tankard to follow.

 two great semis with four QBs that all have some hardware. the battle of the blues is interesting as they are both missing their best player. take playoff Jelani to take advantage of no Joe and get to the finals again. the black and white game matches the two oldest tenured QBs who have both been in this position many times. this game is passing of the guard of the face of the league for the last decade in to, tj, neeraj, king, edwards to the next decade in the Whitter’s, 6 foot 7 jacob, Terrell .. take the young guys but Noah’s team wont give up without a fight.

As for the Black and White game? Pure athleticism vs. Veteran pride. Gotta go with the veterans on Remembrance Day. Young bucks should show some respect and let us score a couple long TDs, because most of us don’t remember doing that in a while, either.

 White and black semifinal was a great one. Great plays, drama, intensity, shout out to all the players on both teams.. don’t remember an OT game in last several years but 48-48 is amazing. Offenses were cooking to score 48 points on those defenses. Hope the blue white final is somewhere as good.
