I apologize for no week 1 predictions! Long weekend etc. Week 2 may have significant absences due to TFONT tourney** 9am Ricardo Black vs Jelani Purple Both teams looked good week one! Ricardo was able to pull out the tie vs a very solid spack team white who I had in my preseason number 1. Jelani’s team looked great vs Kyle and royal getting a very rare regular season win for Jelani. Tyler and Murg lead the way with 2 ints a piece. Ricardo was able to feed his ROY Stoop and Tyler last game for big scores. While Jelani spread it around with Will, Blake and Wyatt. Game analysis: Ricardo vs Jelani. Ricardo had a rough first season and is still finding his groove in the WMFL, but he is a seasoned vet for touch football. A stronger arm than Jelani. But the advantage goes to Jelani here if he is playing (maybe at the tourney). Joe R vs Tyler, former besties as first round picks no longer blocked together. One is a 1st overall and one is 10th. Ad to purple here, joe is outstanding, tyler will play motivated. Wyatt vs Stoop. Both have the size and athleticism. Stoop was ROY last year and looked good game one. Wyatt looked awesome also. Going to give this one a tie, get wyatt in the right head space and he is dangerous. I like Bryce and Will over Harrison and Tyler for the advantage to purple. Tyler looked good though! Tony and Blake will be able to do well vs Jai and Brendan. I don’t know enough about billy and Brendan though! I see Purple also having a depth advantage with the bottom half of the roster as there are simply more names I recognize with pringle, miggy, bryan and the great billy. Team black I regonze lungin and tyler and alex. Scott, tony, peter, Jermaine liam, show me something! Clear advantage to purple here which could be a lopsided win. The only concern is if Jelani is at a tournament then this could be close. I will play it as if not at tournaments. I can see Team black struggling on defence this year. Jelani should be solid on both sides. Purple wins 38-14 9am Spack White vs Kyle Royal. Both teams had dispointing week 1s. Spack with the tie and Kyle took the L. Both teams scored low outputs for their high expectations. Spack was able to feed G and Jack his two horses, lest they have a mental down. Kyle saw scores from Neeraj and Nick. All names that are staples in this league and these teams need a bounce back. Game analysis. Kyle vs Spack Spack is coming off a championship season and should be able to score at will on any team with this roster. Kyle is hot and cold, his cold game was last week so look out for Kyle being hot this week ; ) . Nick vs Jack is closer than it would have been in the past with Jack acending and Nick seemingly plateauing. Nick has game breaking potential that should set him up top but perhaps he is tournament bound. Will leave this as a tie. Murg vs G is a mismatch in favor of team white, G is somehow still getting better and faster, should be a number 1, perhaps his melt downs kept him at 2 on draft night. Neeraj vs James, James I do not know well enough and Neeraj is always elite. Ad to Blue. Regia vs Terrell, Regai should have the advangtage but my insdiers say Terrel is for real, call this a tie. Riley I do not know well enough, Jake is always solid, big speed, sometimes inconsisten, give me Jake for team blue. Daniel and Jay vs Henrquie and Timmy, have to go advantage to team blue again on this but henrquie could surprise me! Both bottom halfs of the roster are too many unknowns for me, sorry for the year off! Steven, Glenn, Matt make sure you teach Croken and Tullet. Spack has too many unknwons and maybe a diamond in the rough, Nick will teach Jon, Mike and Santino, and Patrick will do well. Ad to white. Rosters are close but I like the top two for spack and he will be looking to come out blazing after a disappointing week 1. Kyle should be on fire but maybe missing his top target could be a problem, and it’s a 9am game which has hangover written all over it. Spack will get his team scoring in bundles and the D will settle. Kyle will score again but too many holes on D. Spack 46- Kyle 20. 1045am Matt baby blue vs Noah green Matt’s team looked good in week one and Noah’s team severely underwhelmed in a big loss. Bo and Forde and Raf had a great connection on day one scoring a ton. Already in mid season form but will these 3 be away for touranments this weekend? Noah had several familiar faces but struggled to get the ball rolling with the plethora of offensive talent on the field. Chris Stretch Miller looks to be taking ROY with 2 ints and 14 points. Chris and Frank away at tournaments this weekend we will see. Game analysis: Noah and Matt are both excellent QBs. Matt looked a lot better than Noah last week though. Both have championship pedigree. Ill take the advantage to matt and blue for this ability to play D and familiarity with his horses. Bo vs Frank, A healthy Frank is a star, Bo looked excellent as well though. Ad to frank and green. Miller vs Forde, both are awesome on both sides of the ball, too close to call! Peyton P Money vs TO, TO is still elite and P money is still learning the ropes, advantage green and TO. Nigel and TJ vs Jayden and Michael. I need to learn more from the blue jayden and Michael so I have to go nigel and TJ for TJ’s game breaking ability and football IQ. Ad to green. The young Ethan and Kyle for green vs unknown to me Tristan and sam. Too close for me to call, I need to do my homework. The ends of the rosters are too close to call with so many WMFL veterans with the likes of Lindsay, former pres Craig, J gun JJ, Robbie Edwards, Seabiscut Bret, Mike Raf! Ethan, Connor, Gareth and Andrew, it is your time to shine over the old guard! I see Green winning and bouncing back big time due to possible blue being away but I really don’t know about absences. Would love to see these team play at full strength again. Green wins 40-24 1045am Jack red Joe coal (cool?) grey Jesus looked great last week and so did the team, really shoving it in my face with their last place ranking in my preseason post. Red lost a close one but they were missing their star QB so I don’t know what to take from them. Khoysa and Gincarlo (Hardest to spell first names in the league) really balled out for Coal. Red relied on King to get the job done and Drew throwing managed to put 28 up. Game analysis: Jesus and Jack I would have had Jack a landslide advantage in preseason. But Joe looked good, and Joe can play D. Perhaps he is pulling closer to Jack. Jack still has the edge under center for Red. Z and Jamie isn’t even close, Jamie is an MVP, Z is washed, nough said, advantage to Coal. Mario vs Patrick, Mario is a wiley vet but Patrick is still ascending and athletic as heck, ad to Red. King and Khoysa both balled out in their week 1 performance. Edge to Kyosa with his ball hawking ability with Coal. Giancarlo and Synder, I don’t know Giancarlo but no one beats the great Snyder! Ad to red. Mike vs Riley would have had the edge to Marci a couple of years ago but Rily Sunny walker is coming into his own, ad to red. Jordy vs Drew, Jordy has momemnts of brilliance, moments of weakness. Drew is coming off of a great leadership effort and will be brimming with confidence. I don’t know Jaden but Danny Parker the sack master has to have the edge for red. A lot of known names for both ends of the roster but I like the vets of red with Jomo, Geoff, Pete, Waleed over Coal Jules Duffy Mike and Craik. Noah and Derek, show me something! Other than at their first and third picks, Red seems to have an advantage almost all over the roster plus the advantage at QB. QB is everything. Red will score and slow down Jesus. Jesus will tumble back to where I thought they were in the preseason. They are what we thought they were!!!! Jamie and Kyosa absent at tournys?? Red wins 36-12 Rankings after week 1 1) Purple taking over top spot from white 2) Baby blue jumping up from 4 3) White falling to 3, they will be back 4) Coal, I don’t believe they will stay here long, basement dwellers 5) Royal blue staying at 5 6) Green moving down to 6, not a good start 7) Red moving down a notch but no QB, only up from here 8) Black down from 7. Great performance but I cant see them repeating. |
