Quick shout out to DMAC for continuing to help us out with scheduling despite not playing this year. The guys appreciate it.

In an totally unrelated topic this year has seen the fewest number of holding calls in 15 years... Coincidence?

And another shout out to the Schneider for blowing right past Team White's Old Man Secret Weapon for a long TD last week.

I believe the Schnide also scored another TD in the game, so a heads up to all PB Gray opponents in the playoffs.
Apparently their new QB didn't get the memo that says the Snyder can't catch!

Thanks Carter you old son of a gun!
Can I send the cash via pay pal, or do you want me to put a cheque in the mail?
It took a few years, but the HGH has finally kicked in - that's 'hands growth hormone' for the non-clinicians amongst the readership.
Carter is also correct that the league should fear pro bowl grey through the playoffs, we are so confident that we will win it all we have ALREADY gotten our 2014 WMFL championship tattoo's. The design you ask? It is miller, buzz, and Todd all holding hands around a faceless bald man holding a football in one hand, a beer in another, a championship pennant in another hand and with the final hand holding up one finger in the universal gesture of the champion. that, good readership, is commitment.

Mike, you know you were the only one I ever held, never had any problem covering anyone else in the league.

Season starts this week. Every game is important, so lets see who are the contenders.

1.) Nick - Left no doubt that he is the top seed. Being in a pool with perennial contenders Colin and Raf as well as the playoff-ready TO, will be a test. Wouldn't surprise me to see them 1-3 after pool play. But can also easily be 3-0.

2.) Noah - Lost the final week against TO. Was he resting his starters? I can't drop him as he beat Spack, but I think Apack is just as dangerous.

3.) Spack - Noah and Dave should come out of this pool, but attendance and weather will be factors. Dave has had some impressive wins and i like them as 3-0 in their pool.

4.) Colin - I think Mike and DaSilva will get to sleep before 10 Friday night as they will take this serious. Good chance the Raf/Colin game will dictate who moves on.

5.) Raf - See above. Rematch of last weekend. This is the game of the weekend.

6.) Buzz - This is QBBC. Miller will play 1st downs for the safe catch. Todd will play 2nd downs because of his arm. Buzz will come on to get the 3rd down conversions. I can see this team surprising Spack or Noah. Maybe.

7.) Ryan - Funnest team in the league to watch, but destined to go 0-3 in pool play.

8.) TO - Weird win without their top 4. Raf Jr. can't play for them in playoffs, so I think they are in trouble.

Hey Noah;
I was watching the NFL network thing on Doug Flutie the other day. I learned how a young, short, mobile QB could rally an underdog to beat a powerhouse everyone expected to win. Sorry to bring it up, but yes - "the pass". Hail Flutie and all that.
Sensing the parallel yet? Allow me to elaborate.
PBG is BC - when I see Buzz I see Flutie.
You are the U. Former champ, a favourite.
Will the past repeat? Most assuredly. Progoatinators, not to late to pick pro bowl grey this week. We'll keep it close for dramatic purposes, but will win out the day.

Mr T.Watt,

Quite the comparison and although I tend to agree, I do have some minor problems with it.

First of all, you are correct, we are very similar to the U: multiple championships, loaded with elite talent, a bit of us against the world attitude(well, thats just Matt), thugs, I can go on and on.

But comparing Buzz to a young, mobile, short Flutie is mostly wrong. I'll let you figure out which of those attributes is correct.

The only hope you had was help from Mother Nature, and she isn't coming through for you. Buzz is a mudder. His father was a mudder, His mother was a mudder. I am not. I prefer to play in perfect conditions, like the familiar warmth of South Florida. As it stands now, Saturday is looking great, so unfortunately for you, the so called "Miracle in Miami" will not happen this weekend.

2-2 last week. An upset by the win-less Vikings and a victory for the Bears threw off my record for the week. 17-10-1 for the season is okay, not perfect, but not horrible. Let’s see if I can’t do better in the playoffs.

To answer my critics from last week, what happens when there is a 3-point spread and the game ends up a 3 point victory? A push and neither side get credited with a loss. Not do they get credited with a win. There was no spread in the game in question, but the game ended in a tie. No matter which side you picked to win, it was a push. I won’t take a win, but I don’t get a loss either. My record is 17 wins, 10 losses and 1 push.

First week of the second season; the one that really matters for the final placings…

North 9:00 – 4th place (Browns-Mike) vs 5th place (Bears-Colin)

A repeat of last week’s final regular season game, won by the Bears. Another 9 am battle for Mike’s team. Can they get a critical player mass to show up? If they do, I think they get revenge for last week’s loss. If not, it might be a tough hill to climb. Both of these QB’s usually get their teams to come alive for the playoff run. The winner of this game has the inside track to the semis. I am going to assume that the Browns get guys out this week…

Take Mike’s team

South 9:00 – 3rd place (Colts-Dave) vs 6th place (Eagles-Ryan)

Another repeat from last week, which was won handily by Dave’s team. Although it is usually hard to win against the same team two weeks in a row, I think the talent gap here is just too great. I suspect that the Eagles may keep this game closer than last week, but the Colts are on a mission now and can’t afford to slip in this game.

-- Take Dave’s team

North 10:45 – 1st place (PBWhite-Nick) vs 8th place (Vikings-Chris)

The Vikings got an upset win last week against the Falcons. Lots of controversy as to whether or not the addition of Raj Jr. was the reason. He helped for sure, but the team played a good defensive game against the Falcons, which is the sort of thing we expected from this team all year. Can they keep the momentum going against the White team, who has been rolling along strongly since their 1 loss in week 2? I think this is closer than the regular season matchup, but I can’t see the upset…

-- Take Nick’s team

South 10:45 – 2nd place (Falcons-Noah) vs 7th place (PB Grey-Todd/Buzz/John)

Always lots of talk from the PB Grey team, but they certainly haven’t been able to live up to the words from T Watt’s mouth. Noah’s team struggled last week against the Vikings, regardless of who was playing, plain and simple. If they were on their A-game, one player would not have been able to make such a difference. If they play the same way this week, Grey will take advantage. They are opportunistic that way. As much as I would like to pick the upset, I think the Falcons bounce back in a big way this week.

-- Take Noah’s team

Just a reminder that ALL teams need to have refs on the fields during the playoffs; especially a reminder to the late playing teams (PB White, Vikings, Falcons, and PB Grey).

YOU NEED TO HAVE REFS THERE AT 9AM!!!

Playoffs baby!! Have fun everyone, and remember to leave it all out on the field.
