Black is old and washed up

Average age of top 4 teams:

Gold - 28.6
Orange - 31.9
White - 32.0
Black - 37.9

Ruling - Team Black is old is correct, washed up remains to be proven

Id be interested in the age minus the outliers. For example, Black has young Noah that brings down the average. Orange has Nick and Gary Brooks that bring it up. White also has Glenn and Spack that bring it up.

Are the best teams in the semis? White and Orange finished the regular season 1-2. Gold finished 4th, but there isnt an argument they should be there. Black went undefeated through round robin pool, and they seem like the team with momentum now. The only other team that has a claim could be Green as they beat both White and Gold during the season, and was close with Orange. And Green had their chance this past weekend playing Orange without their QB.

I think this is the best, most deserving 4. We should have 2, very competitive games coming up. I will say we will see Gold and White in a rematch in the finals.

Let's here soon good trashing. Spack isn't washed up, he's final 4. Can nick win one before he retires? Can Noah repeat with an old team? Are the young guns got real or will they crack under pressure of meaningful games?

1. Spack is washed up
2. No chance Nick will win one before he retires
3/4. Black/Gold should make for a good finals

Is black old? I don't know. Age is a physical (and I guess speed) thing, but it's also a mental thing and I'm not so sure that one is any more important than the other. But as I look at the teams in the final I see a complete and utter dismantling of first white, and then orange or gold (and why is no one giving orange a chance? That's a solid team, don't overlook em). Sadly all pale in comparison to black, the team around which all other teams rotate, in inferior and progressively deteriorating orbits. That is physics son!

Gold vs Orange

QBs:
Nick wins in experience. He may also not feel the pressure as much as Jelani. Jelani has the better arm, but Nick may make better decisions. I would give this slightly to Nick.

WRs:
Clearly Gold has the best WR in the league, but Frank and Giorgio are both in the top 10. Both teams are very similar as they are young and fast. Top 5 vs top 5 I would push but if they need to go deeper, Gold may be a bit deeper.

Defenses:
I think Orange wins here. Besides being blown out by Black, they have been tough to score on.

Intangibles and Storylines:
Nick has a great chance to win this year while his family members are on his team. Dave Z is looking to ensure he doesn't end up as the best player in the league never to have won a championship, a title currently shared by TO and TJ.

Prediction:

Gold by 8.5

Black vs White

QBs
Both Spack and Noah have been here pretty often. Rumours of Spack being washed up are false, and he is still the better QB. Noah had had better success of late and maybe looking more loose and confident. Slight edge to Spack.

WRs:
Clarkin brothers win here easily. When you get this block, you get two 10s. Black counters with Neeraj and Fabrice, which are polar opposite Clarkins, and great in their own right, but I'll take the Clarkins. After the top two though, the middle and bottom of the roster favours Black. Klassen and Jomo and Will and Big Pete are all extremely solid, reliable receivers. And old. Gotta be a push for me.

Defenses:
Before the round robin, I would have given this hands down to White. But Black has been absolutely stingy with their d in the last 3 games, giving up less than 2 TDs per game. In this league that is filthy. White has given up well over double the points black has. Gotta go Black here.

Intangibles and Storylines:
Noah tries to repeat with Fabrice. He also played with the Clarkins last year when they won. Spack, although annually competitive, has surprisingly not won in many years. Is this the year he gets back to winning the championship?

Prediction:

Will come down to a Clarkin play... White by 2.5

Clearly both, but neither will help you this week amigo.
Great timing, I wrote a poem for you and the rest of team white:

Black is old
Black is bold

White says Fack
Means nothing to Black

Clarkin's aren't tall
White is destined to fall

But still we will play
And bold black will carry the day!

I wouldn't say the Clarkins are EASILY the better block here. As dominant as they have been on offense, they can be exploited on defense. And Black has a beast. Neeraj has been dominant (and a really nice guy). No one has been able to contain him and I don't see White being able to do the same. Noah is one of the most accurate passers in the league and both of them have great chemistry. Noah will be force feeding Neeraj the ball all day, most i expect will be around the 7 to 10 ft range. I agree this will be a shootout and a great game.

The refs this year are atrocious. Hate to think our fees goes towards such poor officiating.

Don't bitch about the refs and hide behind anonymity. They have a tough job and deal with constant bitching from both teams. Some questionable calls sure but they do a good job and are valued members of this league.

Thanks Dylan, you are correct, it is a tough job and I know our team was on the receiving end of some questionable calls but got some in our favor as well. I can only assume that Goodell plays on one of the team that lost one of the important games this past weekend. As I play on the Black team I can tell you first hand that the refs did not have an impact on our game, White beat us and congrats to them. Its always easy to criticize the refs for not making a call but rarely does one call make the difference in a game, it is the accumulation of many plays that ultimately decide who wins. Reffing will never be perfect and isn't in professional leagues either but we as an exec have done our best to try and get the best we could. I have played in leagues with poor reffing and what we have is stellar in comparison. Yes @Goodell the fees paid go towards paying the refs but the alternative is that we go back to reffing ourselves which had its own challenges and probably had more controversy. I am happy to have a conversation with anyone regarding the league and am open to suggestions on making it better but to Goulets point, don't hide behind anonymity and post disparaging remarks on the board, come talk to me anytime, I am always there.

I've spoken face to face with a member of the exec. That was more of a statement to see how the rest of the league has interpreted their officiating.
