The better of the Grays won this week. Proud of our new guys and young players who stepped up huge!

Look out this weekend Dylan! Element #6 on the periodic table is coming for you.

Week 1 is in the books. I predicted the outcomes of the games easily(as most did) however shocked at the performance of Black vs orange without colin and white played well without Giorgio.

Week 2 picks:

Element#6 vs Black (Goodluck telling the difference between these jerseys)

Noah's merry band of misfits got the job done last week with great QB play and fortune of facing a rusty QB in king. Peter Kalo and Frank and T.O a new big 3 or will someone else step up!? A nice schedule for Noah to start the season, a rusty King and a new Dylan. Dyl the thrill could be in trouble this week, maybe muragtroyd can step up again? Fab may be great but he cant cover both T.O and Frank. A lot of question marks with team Black the top half of their line up needs to show up and play well to keep this close. They wont.

Element #6 wins easy 36-12 No easy pick 6 here for Dyl Pickle.

White vs Grey

Nick held his own last week without Beiber in the line up. Neeraj looked great. The defence was suspect but Spack makes all defences look that way. Still very uncertian about the bottom half of this lineup. They will still matchup well vs team grey. An interesting matchup to watch, Luc the self proclaimed stat master of Oshawa, didnt take over a game the way a great player should. Luc is good, not great, yet. King has alot of other weapons that get open, he needs to hit them like he did in the second half of week 1. I see this game coming down to the wire. The defence of Grey keeps this close with lots of athletes on that side of the ball. White has the two big horses in this one with Girogio and Neeraj to make the difference. First win for White in the Post Frank Era.

White wins 24-20 (comes down to conversations which are short throws Grey needs to work on)

Red vs Blue
Red was unfortunate not to have their QB play last week. Really took the Z vs TJ matchup out of play. Red will fair much better on offence this game with TJ at reciever and speedy will and andrian on the outside. Mix in Classen, Miguel and the Warbird and this offence could be humming. Chambers could enjoy a nice game as Blue showed an inability to stop a weakened white team last week. Spack was on fire as usual, Clarkins are fast, Warren, Cain, Staff should step up on defence this game. Cant rely on a huge offence every day can they? They will here for one more week, Red is built for offence not D, Maybe later when they meet things will be different.

Blue wins 42-24 (Could be much larger of a victory here if Spack decides to run it up)

Green vs Orange
Orange looked very strong last week without their QB. Lots of targets on offence. The defence stepped up big with Ben and Tim leading the Charge. Mike and Colin Duo could be scary with those two along side Mike. Will the ball be spread around enough for the bottom half of the team to stay satisfied? Orange matches up great with Green. Orange defense is built with speed to cover Z and Mario in the intermediate throws. Green's defence looked good last week vs Red albeit without their QB, Taylor, Kitch and Jelani shined on D. I see Z and Mike cancelling eachother out. No Joe james last week for orange. He could be the difference here.
Orange wins it 28-16

Power Rankings after week 1, top half stays the same, bottom half has movement.
Blue (no change)
Orange (no change)
Green (no change)
Element#6 (no change)
White (Up 3 spots)
Red (no change)
Grey (no change)
Black (Down 3 spots)

Hopefully we get full line ups this week to get a good sense of where teams are at. Always hard on the long weekends

Did we learn anything we did not know? I think things played out relatively as expected. Some notables:

1.) Nick looked better than expected, in spite of not having the Beibs. Coincidence?

2.) Chambers didn't show. Did it matter?

3.) Dylan was short staffed and that put him at a disadvantage, but he will have a learning curve.

4.) Adam has a big arm, and if he can control it, will be very good. But a 40 yard in-completion is the same as any other in-completion.

5.) Any new guys surprise? None really that I saw.

6.) Spack will score a lot this season, but will be vulnerable on D. With an average height of 5 foot 5, this is a short team.

7.) Will Frank and TO be able to co-exist? If they can, Noah's team will be scary.

8.) Speaking of top 2's, seems there are quite a few pairs of tens. My ranking:

TO/Frank
Mike/Tim
Nick/Kyle
Giorgio/Neeraj
Dave Z/Mario
TJ/???
Fab/Andrew
Luc/??

First of all, you guys are putting the e before the i where the correct way is Bieber. From what I heard a close game against royal coming down to the wire. Next, I wont be able to make this weeks game but Im sure the rest of team white will be there to dominate. So look out.

Since there is so much interest in the leagues colour choices this year, I thought I'd chime in with an observation of my own. I think 'royal' is really more of a 'smurf-blue', which just seems so fitting given the line-up. But I will say this - despite being just a touch over three apples, this is a team of mighty ballers who I would suggest might be early contenders for the crown. Spack plus, toomanyclarkins# is a lethal combination as we all learned last year.
Nonetheless, this week they face a hungry wizard in Chambers, TJ's got the net, and I'll be wearing my cat-suit (yes, it is something to behold). And you may not know , but both Will and Craig share the same middle name - Gargamel. Coincidence? No, fate. So 'smurf-blue' may well win the championship, but this week they are gonna be chased, caught, and eaten for breakfast.

4 and 0 last week Lets see how thing work out this week

Noah (Carbon) vs Dylan (Black)

The Kid vs The old and wise Noah will be a close game may even come down to the 2nd last play of the game .

Carbon by 2

Nick (White) vs King (Light Grey)

Nick keeping it close with Spackman Royal while King getting into the grove of things. Should be a good game going with King on this one . will also be close one

Light Grey by 6

Chambers (Red) vs Spackman (Royal)
Lots of trash talk from Matt calling out the smurfs cricket from the #toomanyClarkin. Maybe Matt is getting to them and looking for them to choke . Not likely

Royal by 16

Jelani (Green) vs Colin (Orange)

Game of the week !!
Looking forward to this game! Maybe a pre season of a champ game. Get out your popcorn and beer grab a seat on the hill this one will be fun to watch.
